great show guys i have been prospecting in sc for over 35 years and i own the copyright for the sc geological report from 1856 to 1860 by oscar lieber.....if you need any info just let me know.i also teach gold refining methods, thanks again for the great video.
@MrKennysams Thanks Kenny. I think I saw you at the GPAA show in NC? We are headed back to Creek 5 as soon as the new mini dredge arrives. Should be a great video judging from our sampling. Interested in putting those gold refining methods on our YT channel? Have cameras and crew. Will travel.
don't take bull from anyone you guys are great i just started at 65 and if i was 21 i would still learn a lot from you saw all and will order soon from pa. going south in the spring i do fabracition if you need somthing i do part time now
@mudflys Thanks mudflys. We really appreciate comments like yours. Shooting and editing videos is a lot of work but it's worth it for viewers like you. Thank you, Sir.
@fishing7231 We are in creek # 5. Many of the creeks we prospect in have no names. Some are only intermittent creeks depending on rain. This creek has no name so we call it by number.
HELLO GUYS. LOVE THESE VIDS BECAUSE YOU SEEM LIKE JUST ORDINARY PROSPECTORS. NICE AND DOWN TO EARTH MEN KINDS OF FOLK. HEY, I HAVE TWO QUESTIONS. FIRST, ARE THERE ANY HOT SPOTS NEAR FAYETTEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA? SECONDLY, WHERE DO TAKE THE GOLD TO CASH IT IN FOR MONEY? DO YOU KNOW OF ANY ASSAYERS NEAR BY OR ON THE EAST COAST? SORRY, THREE QUESTIONS AND THANKS FOR YOUR TIME. GSPDUKE@HOTMAIL.COM.
@unitedpopper Fayetteville is a dead place. Oak Island in NC has beach gold, most of the placers are in charlote and west. I live near wilmington so there isnt much gold here either. Although my friend was digging a sand pit with a excavator and i saw some good sized quartz in a blue clay. I test a tuna can full and got a few little pieces. I was shocked! Good luck
@elgreba Thank you Elgreba. We had a great time and as soon as it gets a little cooler, we hope to do another video. It's nice comments like yours that makes us want to do more. The kids have really grown and it would be cool to see just how much, don't you think? Thanks again!
@elgreba BTW, we haven't gotten back into that creek yet. Too hot! Danny, Nugget and I have been busy doing other things this summer. We need to somehow drag a dredge into that creek and see what it really holds. Again, thanks for the comment.
I came to sc on vacation as of 7/1/11 to do some panning. I am in rock hill and cant seem to find any creeks or moving rivers.. where can i go? please help.
@LuxAuterna Some do and some don't. Six to ten per cent is the usual cut if they do no work, supply no equipment and don't help with the gasoline costs. Don't cheat anyone. It's already tough to get on land and many landowners have already been cheated by prospectors. Clean up and split at the end of each day and ask the landowner to watch you do the clean up and split. Often they will look and just let you keep it all.
@Computert3ch Great! Color is a great find. It doesn't take much goldmto make me happy either. The adventure is as much fun as finding the gold. Good luck with your prospecting.
@sysbee1 Danny is recovering from his operation, Nugget has been fighting the flu and I have been busy on another project, hopefully for TV. We will drag in a dredge soon and get some video posted for YT land. Yeah...I know. Enough of the excuses! :)
@gaffneygamecock1 That creek doesn't ring a bell but I probably have checked it at some time. Will have to check my notes. Give it a try especially if it is mostly rocky and not so sandy. Good luck!
@DylanLambFlims I have found gold in most every county above the fall line. Cola is on that line so I would be surprised if you don't find color there. Try the "big river". Good luck.
@GoldHunterMike Looks like it's going to be an amazing creek, Mike. Wish I could invite you to try it but it's not my property and the owner is very protective. We have to respect his wishes. Thanks for your comment.
Great video. Also prospect in SC. Your fine gold is a bit heavier and coarser than what we have been finding in the upstate. Good luck with the dredge.
@DHIOTT Thanks DHIOTT. We appreciate the positive comment. Yes, this gold is coarse. I hope it will get better as we get closer to the source. Will keep everyone informed via video. Good luck with your prospecting.
@mydog61 Thank you mydog61. We really appreciate great comments. Keeps us motivated to do more. We will post videos of the dredging as soon as we are able to stand that cold mountain water!
Great camera work! It's amazing what a steady camera can do for the video, instead of jumping all over the place. AND kudo's on finding the gold... this could easily turn out to be quite interesting...
@Kyuto00009 Thank you for commenting, Jeff. We started shooting using multi-cams, as usual, but I got gold fever and left the rest of the shooting up to Tena. Fewer cut aways but she did a great job.
