i think explaining: forget the signs and divide them, then if its positive/negative or negative/positive what the sign will be, would make more sence than: well, since five is a negative the answer is negative so the answer is -5 goodbye XD

Negative x Negative = positive

negative x positive = negative

positive x negative = negative

if the sign is the same, the answer is positve.

if the sign is different, the answer is negative.

Please explain a little bit more. You didn't elaborate about the possibilties of other signs. Ex: positive and positive, negative and negative.
