  • kkkkkkkkkkkk o robot me faz rir kkkkkk

  • I love this song, it makes me think of what others from other planets might be thinking of us, there probably some worlds out there in universe are advanced than ours or some are just in their medieval stages, we will get visit those other world but people on Earh lurn to live together forget religon and politics it will happen, be positive

  • theres only one Karen who can sing this so good.........rip Karen

  • My childhood favorites... always reminded me of E.T.

  • why was this song not a bigger hit? one of their best

  • Unbelievable this year will be 30 years since Karen's passing. Still no one has come even close to matching her astonishing singing voice. Even the most unlikely song once it had Richard's arrangement and Karen's silky assured vocals became a delight.

  • @TG280 Ever heard of Alison Krauss? The only voice that can come close to Karens.

  • @paulbrannan1966 Alison is flawless but Karen mythic. No one comes close.

  • This song NEVER gets old!!!

  • Of course it depends on individual taste. No one sings like the Angelic Karen!

  • This version by the Carpenters is good, but remember they didn't write it, Klaatu did. I highly recommend the original by them on youtube to you. Vastly superior production.

  • if the carpenters had done more interesting songs like this and less corny slow love songs ..back in the day could have been a fan...

  • This song is so ahead of its time, just love Karen <3<3<3 RIP xoxoxo

  • This is the song my friend almost killed himself to while we were in Iraq. We were riding a bus on base and we were trapped inside when this song was playing.... he was beating his head against the seat trying to knock himself out....

  • @Vulgardisp seriously?

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeei obg

  • When Karen Carpenter "died" from anorexia, she was telling the human race that eating animals would be the death of their species.

  • @redfordforpresident No she was not. She never said anything about this.

  • God..please take Bieber and give us back Karen Carpenter!

  • Just popping in to share this again on my site over here in Australia we are receiving telepathic communication and guidance to awaken others:) google The Federation of Light:)

  • This is the official song for contact day, only the Carpenters and the Beatles could achieve that standard. She my be gone! Karen! but her songs will always live on forever.. Beautiful, perfect, poetic, there is not a word you can type down on a page to,express what this lady did for humanity.. ..we are singing this song for you now Karen! xx

  • This is a great song!!

  • magnifico!!!!

  • Super version. Only version!!!

  • A good cover of the Canadian band KLAATU song.

  • Karen CARPENTER: WHY DID YOU DIE?

  • The Klaatu version is better.

  • Great song, the Caprs did it better than the original. The guys in Klaatu were able to get their kids thru college.

  • Karen- a voice of solid gold.

  • Very nice song, indeed.

  • wonders of the solar system sent me here

  • This song was number one on the charts on Tralfamador.

The Klingons didn't like it though, they prefer death metal.

  • green screens sucked back then...

  • I could be wrong, but i seem to recall that this song went up on voyager at Carl Sagans request. So, one day, some aliens may intercept it. Nice thought..:)

  • Karen... Sua voz é eterna!

    Impossível não gostar de Carpenters!!!

  • This song opens my heart and expands my mind, I simply love it. So, does my 6 year old daughter Zoe.

  • Such a beautiful voice and person she was robbed of her life because of societies images which are a joke.Karen sleep well my lovely.

  • The radio jokey reminds me of Zaphod Beeblebrox

  • Truly one of the best song titles ever.

  • What a waste, one of the best voices on the planet!!!

  • This was a great yet bizarre choice of song made by Richard. He spent a lot of time on this song and I think it turned out well. Richard imo doesn't get the credit he deserves for his producing, instrumentalist and writing talents. He's incredibly talented and so is Karen of course. Both of them were magic together. When Karen sang, it felt like she was just singing to you only. What a magical and soothing voice she had. There will never be another. Love their music. Great group.

  • Theo Hutchcraft sent me here.

  • She needs to eat a sandwich.

  • Karen is telling you she is one, an extraterrestrial. And her song Beechwood 45789 -- that is the age of the Earth -- 4.5789 billion ? years. The Bible talks about the Holy Trinity and The Lord of the Rings is a Trilogy. Thots on whether the Earth could be trillions of years old? B--eechwood. B for billion. KPAX says there is a Twin Solar System. Which Earth is she talking about -- this or those Earths of Christmases Past and Future just discovered? Three Coins in a Fountain.

  • 80s lol

  • 4:00 guitar solo :D

  • Those are scary aliens

  • The improbable star singing about improbable stars.

  • Never heard this in all the years I heard the Carpenters.

  • lovely song reminds of my late brother bless his heart and Karens

  • Her talent is and will always be missed. :( RIP Karen Carpenter

  • Love the story and theatrical aspect to this song, it's like Alice Cooper back then with the inventive orchestral Bob Ezrin producing him.

  • Love the Carpenters, love this song, always hated this stupid start of it ; prefer it without that intro

  • Karen's voice was from another Universe so it's only natural they would sing about Aliens. This world misses her enormous talent so much. :((

  • ...Baby...

  • Aliens: (After observing Earth with all its wars, pollution and human stupidity) - "No thanks, we'll pass."

  • @nutter69 Erm... well, actually, if we make contact with an alien species, we will try to conquer them. If we can´t, we will kill them and take their planet. Yeah, we are that nice. : D

  • I love this song... I love the Carpenters a lot, I love Karen

but I hate the plot y'nkow

  • THIS IS OCCUPANT OF INTERPLANETARY CRAFT:

    Thank you for your message.

We have located your signal and are preparing to enter Earth's atmosphere.

Prepare to be assimilated with alien DNA.

All of earth's natural resources will be mined and taken by our INTERPLANETARY CRAFT.

AGAIN - Thank you for the message.

PS - The earthling you call Michele Bachmann is a douche...I mean, really, why would ever allow such a douche to run for your presidency?

  • karen had the voice of melted honey i could listen to her sing all day long

  • Carpenters' songs weren't always as sticky sweet as some people think, and Karen Carptenter performs it beautifully, but this is a truly, truly bizarre choice.

  • Where can I find the images of the aliens at 1:57??

  • I fell in love with the Carpenters after listening to this song for the first time, that was 10 years ago and I was only 14...10 years later, I'm still in love with them and with this song!

  • @Rena1934 Ditto im the same age too. I might of been younger than ten when i first heard them, but i still love them now.

  • one of my faves miss this lady so much tears xx

  • We were looking forward to meeting the aliens in the 1970's, they finally arrived Sept. 11th 2001. How do you like their arrival?

  • I prefer this over the original, and I am a bit of a rock freak, the Carpenters were so talented love em to bits!

  • The guitar solo "sound" reminds me of Goodbye To Love. So fuzzy it makes my teeth itch.

  • The lovely Karen Carpenter and her perfect voice ...

    Such a big loss :/

I love you Karen, you do inspire me a lot.

  • some people use to hate them....I cant tell why...there so beautiful

  • her voice is like a heavenly poltiergiest...so beautiful

  • I wish I'd appreciated Karen more when she was alive. Or better still I wish she hadn't died.

  • A solitaire star in the Universe !!!! .. Atomic

  • They were way before their time! If only they knew how close we are now to making that contact!

  • this song was panned by critics when it came out ..... i think it spans the ages !!!!

  • this record was released to coincide with world contact day.......which never happened!

  • the Carpenters hit #32 in Billboard, 11-26-77. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! RIP, Karen.

  • My high school's planetarium always used this song for newcomers joining the club in a presentation of the planetarium's ability

  • How old is this song?

  • @randominsanepeople The song was released in 1977.

  • @johnny10301968 Ah okay it makes sense then

  • @randominsanepeople I'm not sure but i think The Carpenters released this song capitalizing on the Close Encounters Of The Third Kind film. When everyone was crazy about searching for UFOs.

  • @johnny10301968

Yeah that makes sense too, I was thinking they were from before aliens would have been in a song so was confused

  • @johnny10301968 Actually, this song predates the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" by a month. :3

  • @randominsanepeople 1976 first recording . 35 years..my God, i`m getting really old

  • i dream of this song somtimes

  • I've got this cranked! XD

  • Such a magical voice. Such sadness in her face.

  • Thumbs up if brian cox's wonders of the solar system brought you here (Y)

  • @MrSAnthonyH it was on at the final credits of the last show, i was straight on youtube lookin for it lol yea bit of a nerd

  • The song is awesome, the opening... however, is shyt!

  • PERFECTION.

  • It just occurred to me how ironic it was for them to cover a song by Klaatu.

In the movie The Day the Earth Stood Still the character "Klaatu" goes by the name of "Carpenter".

  • Weird song, but hell, Karen Carpenter could make a belch sound great.

  • i miss her sooooooo much:(

  • @hoangduc92 yup,i miss her too

  • karen i love you RIP

  • That DJ's a madman. He's ready to drop trow, he'll do it, he'll drop trow.

  • Awwww, she was already waaayyy too thin by the time this was made,,,rest in peace Karen,,,we loved you.

  • omg! Is he House, M.D.??? :O

  • Anybody know where the pictures of aliens came from?

  • @TheHawthorneAbendsen They look like the ones that use to be on the covers of pulp science fiction mags, back in the 30's to the 50's such as "Amazing Stories" , "Analog" and "Tales of Wonder" and later the last one to come out (I believe) "Asimov's Science Fiction". All ahd interesting and imagination in their art work.

  • Possibly my favorite Carpenters' song. I can remember hearing this song at about 10 years old. Same year at the original Star Wars as I recall.

  • think about the words to this song, the aliens are sending this message to HER.

  • everyone should join the page on facebook.....

Calling occupants of interplanetary craft - The Carpenters :D

  • @1CA26 by klaatu, covered by the carpenters

  • Love it!!!!

  • What a voice and what incredible sadness in Karen's life........a talent...

  • It is one of my fave Carpenters song both 45 and long playing versions. It brings the visions of Steven Speilberg's movies.

  • Karen Carpenter her voice was the voice of an angel.

  • music artists today, the women, don't have the sophistication you see in karen carpenter.

  • RIP Karen :(

  • All of the great memories of my brother and I putting on those 'concerts' for our mom (always made an effort to include this song, with me singing, and my brother acting out the aliens.)

This song has a special place in my heart, because of that (both versions of it!)

  • Think they picked up any stoner progresive rock fans after releasing this?

  • Poor beautiful, sweet, gentle Karen. A truly wonderful lady taken from us way before her time. We miss you and love you Karen

  • Lawl I love the radio scene XD XD

  • I must have listened to this song a million times when I was 6 years old....havent heard it in years, brings tears to my eyes.

  • ?????!!!!!! WTF ??????

i don't know why but this video makes me think about Panini Stickers…

  • Stupid radio scene at the beginning... always have to skip that part

  • What a nice voice she had

  • She must have been taken out of this dimension by the entities she was summoning I guess... this is from the 70's and this is what they are talking about today, the imminent contact with the extraterrestrials... ain't that great?

  • By the way, this is the shorter version. You've been observing our earth. And we'd like to make a contact with you.

  • Klaatu>The Carpenters. It's sad that this is the first version that comes up when I type in "Calling Occupant of Interplanetary Craft". How many people here know that this is a cover?

  • @AllCanadiaReject as i heard the klaatu version first (and for a short bit, believed the hype that they were the beatles undercover) i know its a cover

it was just so trippy to have the carpenters cover this...and you have to admit that karen sings it very well

  • Comment removed

  • @brabon1 Well that's very good. Karen is okay but it sounds like she's saying occu-PANTS. As in jeans and track pants and such. Also, the arrangement of this song is pretty much ripped from Klaatu's. And John Woloschuk is a better singer in my opinion. Also, my comment is to those who say such things as: "This is their masterpiece". If you think it's a masterpiece people then listen to the original version.

  • This was their masterpiece

  • Karen is the voice of peace in the universe! I could totally see that happening.

  • @TheSienna29

Sadly, she didn't live to be so. :c

    RIP Karen Carpenter

  • A time when people had the courage to inject 'weirdness' into mini masterpieces. McArthur Park for the seventies ~ aliens instead of cakes!

  • the alien is named Mike

  • 22 people didn't like the phrase 'anti-adversary craft'

  • Thanks for posting the COMPLETE version, most airplay was limited to the start of Karen's voice. I thought the intro was brilliant, and no, I wasn't smoking weed, I prefer the pure resin.

  • This is the song Carl Sagan used to smoke weed ahahahahah... Brilliant anyway... I love Karen...

  • 22 are proven to be tonedeaf and clueless.

  • Who's this DJ: Kenny Loggings? :P

  • @richieNJ The DJ is their guitar player.

  • @The1fuzzylogic - Tony Peluso

  • Muy linda interpretación, que Dios te tenga en el Cielo cantandole a los Angeles.Esta hermosa canción me trae muy buenos recuerdos de juventud.

  • Comment removed

  • I think that you will have to build one to be in the club.

  • What a job this song was. It wasent recorded over night thats for sure. But once again a master piece by Richard Carpenter. Tony Peluso actually found this song from a group called Klaatu. Richard being a Science fiction fan agreed that it would be fun to do.

  • This is easily one of the weirdest songs from the seventies.

  • Aliens: "She sing pretty, but why she so skinny?" She gonna hurt herself..."

  • shit phrasolgy to say ''top of thje range'' but top of the range anyway. mickfuk

  • Karen had a very special, beautiful voice. Can't believe some people don't like this. Very much a song of it's time. Karen's voice lives forever - I still have their records, tapes, and c.d's - not bothering wasting money on whatever comes out next. The sound is still terrific. I have never come across anyone (here in England) who didn't think her voice amazing.

  • STAY AWAY ALIENS WE HUMANS ARE THE WORST KILLING MACHINES! Dont listen to her. Where killing everything from chickens, Orangutangs, Whales, everything even ourselves man!!STAY WELL AWAY FROM HERE!!Youl be shot at first sight. Humans are destructive....BP oil got away mass marine murder. And the dumbards have forgotten already BPs crap rather watch TV. Dumbards. Fuken song! ITS A TRAP!!

  • @Nevawake You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.

  • @Nevawake Admiral Ackbar much?

  • @Nevawake crack head much?

  • @SKSowner1 no wrong dipshit you fail. adhd. if i hadnt of told u that u would believe everything your brain told u. now the scary thing is. How do u know your thoughts are the right ones?

  • @Nevawake - lighten up, dude!

  • Is it irony that she had a neck like ET ?

  • wevvve... beeeen.... observing... yourrrr earth...

  • i heard this on the radio the other day...brought me back to when i really small.. i remebered it right away, my mom used to play it alot.thanks so much for posting!

  • the full version is even better...awesome song...when music was real, and good!

  • There will never be another voice like Karen's...she was blessed with a beautiful angelic voice....there's been no one to match it since..

  • when I saw the title of this song I thought -Bowie's ZiggyStardust, Star Wars, you get the idea. last group on "Earth" I would have guessed to do this bit.

  • So many funny moments in my youth with my sisters singing 'Calling occupants of interplanetary crap'. Simple minds etc etc,

  • Sweetness.

  • love the guitar solo!

  • Does the alien voice say, "Baby" and then Karen shows up singing? Another one of my favorite Carpenters song.

  • @rhalld i always thought it was bambi....

  • Love Star Trek but having a video with this delight of it is far fetched the original is better.

  • I found this song through my best friend's dad's iPod not too long. It's their favorite song and It is now mine! I'm glad they played it (more then once!)

  • This song was my inspiration to write a book.

  • i love that this exists
