This is maybe a little of topic, but could you help me with a lick in the song Rosanna (toto).. Its the fill right after after the 6 cymbal hits (in pair) and it ends with a snarehit. . I love to pratics to this tune, but it makes me crazy that I cant figure this one out. . I hope you know what fill I mean. . its repeted 4 times or so in the song. . i´ll bet you can figure this one out!!
i'm curious - was the jam clip loaded into the TD-20 or are you playing that track via an outside source - I would love to get a hold of it to jam with as well - I'm on the older TD-10 V-pro kit - rock on!
The module is a Roland TD-9. The music you're hearing is called 'Jam' from Michael Jackson's 'Dangerous' album. I've edited that track (down to what you hear), converted it to a WAV file and loaded that into the TD-9 to play along to.
I picked this track to play because I thought you'd really like it (it's basically a 'Funk Rock' groove which is kinda like your style)... and also because MJ was about to embark on his 50(!?) London O2 gigs. Still seems strange to me that he's no longer with us. It's just bizarre.
AWESOME!!!!!! Again, well done sir! Once more you've managed to show us that there IS God :-)
Question: Is there a major noise issue when playing V-drums live, I mean when hitting the pads and cymbals? You can hear it on a lot of videos when they're recorded with a room mic (?)
With regards to pad impact noise... electronic drum pads are not silent... so if you record the kit with a room mic, even well amplified, it is likely you will hear some impact noise. Mesh head pads are a lot quieter than rubber... but again, they're not silent.
I record my videos using a direct line out from the module for clean audio... film the video separately... and then sync the two in software.
that's a very cool sequence to play along with and as always superb drumming. This video helped me to see what technique you are using and how u do those tricky things on the hat and the left tom.I loved the slow motion but it will still take me ages to do a solo like that -))
You are amazing mate, so solid, just sitting and groovin', love ya work mate, even if it is just a warmup! ;)
