  • I swear, this music played every single time I sieged a town/city with my cannons in the America's campaign. Every time I hear it, cannon blasts go off in my mind. And the collapsing of walls. And dead men.

  • super ......

    power music

  • nobody hates this song..

  • I remember first hearing this music when playing M2TW as either the Spanish or the Venetians. After playing most of the campaign in the Mediterranean and Europe, landing in the New World and fighting the natives was as if my army had landed on a different planet.

  • Mr. van Dyck,

Is there no music culture that you cannot master? Japan to the Midwest, and everything in between; your my fav video game composer by far.

  • eargasm

  • fuckin mindorgasmic

  • 0 dislikes? Godlike!

  • Upon hearing this song, I wanna strip naked and take a walk in a woods.

  • @Siluriuskaeso fuck yeah

  • the best music on the game

  • anyone know the song for the battle of pavia in medieval 2?

  • @kiryu2000 M2TW OST-Duke of Death.

  • Lakota is an North American Native tribe not a South American civilization.

  • @MrFaed and lambada is a portuguese style of music LOL, awesome how they mix names huh? :P

  • @JAckStyleNigga What does Lambada have to do with Lakota?

  • @JAckStyleNigga Nvm just remembered saw the title havent been back to this site in weeks xD

  • @MrFaed The flute and voice are Lakota-like too...

    The drums are South American.

  • he looks lost :o

  • @Kaleeb7 He doesnt really look like the type who would ask for directions.

  • ahh, an epic battle with this song was when I was on a hilltop with 200 musketeers and coquistadore cavalry and a general against 2500 aztecs - they never made it to the hill :)

  • Best music of the americas campaign hands down.

  • This being stuck in my head at work makes grocery store activity THAT MUCH MORE EPIIIIIC!!!

  • Hmmm, Walking on Fortaleza with this songs, melting them with my 4 serpentines, while approaching my scotish guards, my Adventurers and my Musketeer.

Then, charging with my Gendarmes, oh yeah, epic win, took a village of 900 wood stick armied people, with 2500 soldiers, elite cavalry, elite infantry, elite archery and elite artillery :D

Problem, Genova Convetion fags ? :D

  • @bendu49100 its Geneva tard

  • @jizmacdacusha So sad, I made a mistake.

    + no, it's Genève.

  • @bendu49100 oh well, then were both wrong

  • @bendu49100 How is it epic that you killed 900 guys using wooden sticks with a force almost twice their size, comprised entirely of elite units?

  • @BlackTemplar43 Epic as european Power at its best.

  • I really wish the medieval Europeans had tried to invade America earlier in the Middle Ages. It would have been so tits to see a legit large scale battle between the two radically different cultures. I really just want to see a fair fight between the two. NO SMALLPOX THIS TIME, EUROPEANS!

  • @alphatotheomega7 then those indians should have evolved earlier with guns... or invent something usefull like the wheel...

  • @SlammerEnergy Go look up "Wkuk Walk of Shame" here on youtube. It's a lulzy comedy skit that circles around the same theme of your comment.

  • The picture makes sense to me, it makes me thing the knight is one of the first europeans looking up in awe at this bizarre and mighty new culture, the aztecs

(though i guess he doesnt look anything like a conquistador )

  • wtf why would you put a possibly white knight for as Aztec song? in the knights mind is he aztec? or mayan? hes ueropean! lol

  • The Aztecs,Mayans, just about all Ancient Meso-American tribes were wiped out by the Spanish, just like the US Army Wiped out many of the Natives in the 1800s. Although it was the natives land.

  • @XxGAMINGHQxX well, they discovered a new land..everybody who was in their position would do the same, so there would be no opposing forces as they conquered the native land

  • Yeah. Wonder what those countries would have looked like today if they werent wiped out.

Maybe it would have been a paradise over there. Or yet another pair of third world countries.

    Who knows.

  • @XxGAMINGHQxX Not so. At his greatest strength Cortez's forces barely exceeded 500 men. The Aztecs had armies numbering in the hundreds of thousands. Even with cavalry, steel and gunpowder weapons the Spanish could never have survived such odds were it not for Cortez’s ability to exploit rivalries between different tribes and nation states like the Tlaxcalans.

Small pox and other diseases brought over by Europeans are what actually wiped out the Mesoamerican Civilizations.

  • @Aethgeir

    Smallpox FTW :D

shame though that many of the mesoamerica religion is gone...hate the heart cutting thing but they were good math folk appeartantly...mabey they could have explained the 2012 things was just something they didn't fill the calander in, instead of " ze ending of ze vurld!!!"

  • @gaoth88 Well actually, the Mesoamerican religions are not entirely gone. There are many rural areas in southern Mexico and other Latin American countries where worship of the old gods is still practiced. The people in some of these villages will literally attend mass in church on Sunday and afterwards go up into the mountains and sacrifice some chickens to the old gods.

  • @gaoth88 As far as the 2012 thing goes, there is actually only one reference to that date in all known Mayan archaeology. It appears on a stella in some ruin and says only the date and something about "the nine gods will come." The popular doomsday prophecy of today, is actually based on the oral traditions of the living Mayan people who still inhabit the Yucatan peninsula. But according to those people, the world is not going to come to an end at all, but rather experience a 'new beginning.'

  • @Aethgeir Yeah that's Illuminati's goal to begin a new world order

  • this is only on Mayan jungle map?

  • general:lad?

    general:units! chaaaarge!

    *highland nobles ambush aztecs*

    *this music plays*

  • This song reminds me of when I used to play the game Amazon. Such fond memories. :)

  • I would have preferred it if the Vikings conquered the Americas, Vikings vs Aztecs would make for an awesome fight, even if the aztecs didn't come until 400 or so years after the viking age ended...but if they had a big colonial empire; perhaps the vikings would have been able to resist christianization and remain a force to be reckoned with well into the renaissance?

  • @HiveFleetHydra Oh Vikings here and Vikings there, I'm so fucking sick of it, they would've gone down just they way they did before.

  • my best music in this awsome game

  • Wanna know what made all of Cortez's ambition possible? Disease. Some estimates say that as much as 75-80% of Natives in both north and south America died from European disease before Cortez conquered Mexico. Europe's concious cruelty doesn't even compare, not that it wasn't terrible.

  • @tesnacloud Don't forget Cortez's numerous native allies, who despised the murderous Aztecs. The mighty city-state of Tlaxcala, particularly.

  • jeff should make the music for shogun 2

  • I hate Cortez, just because he destroyed Tenotchitlan and Aztec Empire.

  • @Priyo866 The Aztec empire fed sometimes on their enemies hearts. Honestly? Those people did deserve some cleansing, favourably with a sword.

  • @ShotGreg I know that Aztecs were sometimes cruel, and Cortez ended their 'triple-allied' tyranny. But Aztec culture was very good, and nice too. I just said that because after hearing to the track I felt like I am a native American.

  • @Priyo866 They lived in a hostile environment. I don't believe they were any more cruel than any other early civilisation in conditions similar to theirs. There's much to admire, and much to despise about most cultures.

  • @unrealuk You are right. They were cruel, especially with 'sacrifices' :p

  • @Priyo866 Cruel with sarifices you do know that the aztec people that were sarifice willing want to be sarifice. Not only that but they saw the sacrificees as a messenger of the gods. not only that but their way of think realistically made sense. If god died to give you life doesn't it make sense to show how much you love and appreciated such a thing my giving you life back to him. Seeing as only life can equal life. So in that mind set the greatest thing you could give anyone is your life.

  • @goku21060 Well at the time I suppose that type of thinking was making some sense. But I find the fact that god appreciates all life more to my favor.

  • @ShotGreg I don't disagree, just saying we should act like the spanards just because we don't take the time to think about it :). Plus I always thought it was amazing to see that their were easy will to give so much to god. If you compare that to the people of today, its embarassing really :(

  • @ShotGreg Don't make me laugh. So genocide is justified? Specially when back in your land the burning of your own innocents alive is commonplace, as well as consuming human parts and mummy dust because yeah, that's a real medicine? They didn't eat the hearts by the way.

  • @Priyo866 Cortez was an opportunistic bastard wich replaced the greatest city in the world with his miserable Baroque and new, worse kinds of bloodshed.

  • @Perszeusz This, is the only reason to hate Cortez. He took away one of my favourite cities: Tenochtitlan.

  • Comment removed

  • @Priyo866 Far from the only reason, my friend. Not only the city, but the civilization itself, crumbled by his treachery, among other causes. The Tlaxcallans , his crucial tool for conquest, had to pay a terrible price for their vengeance against the Aztecs, guess why. Not to mention all of the Aztec subject peoples. People compare the Triple Alliance with a tyranny. Compare the situation of their subjects before and after the Spaniards. When are they truly enslaved? When are they dehumanized?

  • @Perszeusz The same happened to Incas also, I think.

  • @Priyo866 The Incas as well as most major american civilizations, some having less luck than others. Minor realms were just slaughtered and/or enslaved right away, in the case of Spaniard treatment at least.

  • my favorite song in the game

  • In the americas, when ever I hear this song, I would make my troops run away from the enemy and finish the whole song because its so awesome!

  • listening to this while im writing my medieval 2 total war AAR!

  • knight in the picture: hhhmmmmmmm where is that song coming from its soooo powerful

  • this is why i like the americas campaign so much

  • This has always been my favorite music from M2TW. It's a shame you rarely hear it in game though. Only when fighting in the Americas, and even then it's just mobilize music, so when you start fighting it goes away, and there are still two other mobilize songs which could play. When I get the chance to hear it in game, I usually try to get it to play to the end.

  • @asrenreynolds00 actually you can hear it in any medieval 2, you just have to put a native american faction.

  • The ending is so awesome! Fantastic music!

  • Powerful music !!!

  • Love the beats, which followed by awesome chanting.

    WUUU!

  • I've been searching for this forever! Thank you!

  • Great game

  • Yeah the Americas music is good, I think they did a great job with the music overall

  • nice music

  • put a aztec or mayan picture just a suggestion

  • Or this picture could represent a lost European knight discovering the lands of America, and hearing a distant music ... hmm chilling :D

  • @Nickohlson

Poor bastard must be a good swimmer...

  • Linkster2o

     LOL

  • @Linkster2o Ha!

  • @Linkster2o hahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa fuckin class laad

  • @Linkster2o lols! or a good sailor...

  • @FreeeeS i agree

  • @FreeeeS It isn't necesary. The knight on the picture can be a conqueror.

  • @FreeeeS

    Or a Lakota one... :P

  • music kicks butt

  • great, great, music for conquering the americas. the beat and flow goes just perfect for the gameplay...

is it just me or is the americas campaign music a cut above the rest in M2TW?

  • well I'm not sure what you mean but in kingdoms each campaign has its own soundtrack.

  • i dont know. seems to be in a different style

  • only song i really got into when playing the game, good stuff

  • omg love this ssssss

  • Great music and very nice picture! :)
