was she - sridevi - famous ? forgive me if i am blaspheming here - me thinks that priyanka chopra or nargis fakhri or even sonam kapoor is way hotter than this sridevi who is quiet overweight and completely miscast as a festy afghan woman.

Sridevi was easily one of the most successful actresses of the Bollywood. And the single most successful actress taking Indian Cinema as a whole as she ruled as the No. 1 actress of the 3 largest film industries of India namely Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and also made her mark in Malyalam films and a few films in Kannada. As for beauty, she defines Indian beauty for me with her large bright eyes, long hair, round face , 5 ft 7 tall and curvaceous figure.

And if you see the history of top actresses in Hindi Cinema, hardly one thin actress has ever been on top from Madhubala, Meena Kumari, Vyajanti Mala, Hema Malini, Rekha, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla, Kajol till Rani Mukherji. Its only now in late 2000s that Katrina, Kareena and Priyanka are successful.

Admittedly, the perfect entrance is a question of good scripting & directing, it is also true that the ability to make the epic entrance speaks volumes for the performer. Here Sriji not only does this, but in doing so she upstages the most legendary of performers. Suffice it to say, I can tell that she & AB had great chemistry in this film; Thank you kindly for a fine post halimali; my compliments also on your display picture of La Devi, which is nothing short of divine. :)

Sri was an expert horse rider as confirmed the action director of Army. She reportedly met with an accident when the saddle broke off during the last scene while she was chasing Danny on a horse. Sri had the presence of mind to jump off the horse at the last moment and averted a major disaster, just ending in a few bruises.
