She was a tour guide at a hotel for Ken and Ryu. She wanted to go with Ken and Ryu to Caluun(dont know how to spell it) palace and the started fighting for money in the devils battle cave. but when the owner of the devils battle cave got angry at them for winning so much and decided to choose kill them, chun li Ken and Ryu had to leave. she has been with them ever since. You can see this for you self in the earlyer episodes. I hope i helped you out. :)
