No, I love this player. Upscales normal DVDs very well and its got a lot of features I like. I use this for my movies and keep the TV shows I'm watching in my other player that way I don't have to swap discs as much lol.

Does Your player vibrate at reading DVD disks?

I have the same HD-EP30 and ,I have noticed that at reading in the beginning of a disk(menu and the first 10-15 min from the very beginning of the film) it vibrates.On different disks the effect is expressed differently.

any normal person who is'nt a blinded fanboy could tell you HD DVD was better PQ than Blu-ray. My favorite Feature of HD DVD that even blu-ray doesnt do is region free discs.

There's one out now? Cool i'll check it out tomorrow. It upscales SD very nicely, nicer than my Philips Upscale. Unfortunately one thing that bugs me is I can set Full Screen to panoramic so you have big bars at the side. So I use my Philips to play TV shows which are FS as looks better!

Hey, if you mean electrical retailers we don't actually have many. We have Curry's and Dixons which I think are actually both the same company. We have Asda which is our version of Walmart. I don't think we have a decent alternative to stores like you guys have like Best Buy and Circuit City which is why I buy a lot of stuff online.

Congrats on the new HD player :) I really haven't bought any Blu-Rays since I got my Ps3 some reason. I'm still happy with my regular DVDs. Plus none of the HD/BR have cool packaging like regular DVDs.

Well I say in the video i'm aware of the HD situation however i'm happy to have the HD films I have and a decent upscaling player for the rest of my DVD collection.

As for Rips, I just watched a HD rip of Knocked up.

Yeah all HDs are multi-region but there isn't a hack for standard DVDs yet (but sure one will come.) Yeah it plays standard DVDs and upscales them to near HD quality. In the video I was testing Training Day on DVD and it looked really good.

So keeping my Philips Multi-region until this can play R1 DVDs.

I dont think it was stupid at all. I have that player as well and it works great at upscalling normal dvds. One hd dvd that looked amazing was the shinning. That would be one I would recomend.

Yea I have an HD-DVD player too. I broke down and bought a Blu-ray player also. I just think that Sony is still upset about loosing the VHS vs. Beta war. So now they are forcing it on us consumers.The image is outstanding though.

The only choice of Blu Ray Player as I see it is the PS3 which I just dont want. The only affordable BR players are profile 1.0 and can't be upgraded. It annoys me that a format which isn't even complete seems to be winning the war.

If I have to go Blu then I will but it wont be for a while!

I am going to show my collection hopefully within the next day or two. I just ordered a few dvds online. As soon I get them, I will put them on my shelf and show my dvds again. Most likely they will come when I am at work. I got to start work at 5am.
