  • Yeah! Avalanche fans!! I thought I was alone in the universe...

  • wow! fabulous work dude!

I must ask tho - how do you know all the samples? Is it through pure musical depth, sample searching or magic?! lol :)

  • great work

  • how'd you find out all the samples?

  • Thanks a looooot!

  • Wonderful work, man! I was wondering whether anyone had done this.

  • these are so fastinating, keep making em!

  • turning the joint upside down!

  • THANKS!! Tunes that was sampled by The Avanlanches are also f*ckin' good taste!!!!

  • These guys are in a league of their own.

  • WOW you found the moog loop sample! - i was like looking through the album creditcation and it didnt reference the sample! - i have the original vinyl of "the moog machine"

  • Great work Ricky for all (The Samples) series

  • Hong Kong BEAT DOWN.

  • Great job.

  • NICE! - I picked up that Denton & Cook track into a pile of records to listen to and put it in the "No" pile - regretted it since, so thanks for the ID!

    Respect :)

  • I have no idea what the actual sample is, but at 1:24 on "Close to You" (the song, not this video), the brief vocal sample that is used sounds exactly the same as the one used at 1:03 on DJ Shadow's "Organ Donor." Any thoughts?

  • @WannaTradePants Yeah!! you're right, not the "close to you" voice, but the shout that yells "Wait!" (actually it says "[Play]in' a funky solo") it's the same to me! good ear!

  • @WannaTradePants By the way the sample used in "Organ Donor" it's Samson and Delilah's "There's a DJ in Your Town"

  • that moog machine record was also sampled by the beastie boys on ill communication!!! amazing. they sampled a different part of the song though.

@pondo0105 i think they just sample it in mono, one speaker, if they dont want the guitar.

  • how do they remove parts of a song, like why is there only the organ from "la playa" and not the guitar?

  • It might be that the version they sampled has it hard panned left or right and they just sampled that channel, they used a phase inversion trick or just EQ'd it out.

Either that or its buried in the mix with the other samples.

  • @pondo0105 actually you can hear the guitar if you listen closely

  • CRAZY SHIT!!!

  • What a gifted ear you have mutherfucker! Kudos!!!

    I'm amazed.

  • got to give the avalanches so much credit for the album, I mean theres over 100 samples in total, and they all fit together perfectly. My favourite dance album of all time, this, and Royksopp's Melody AM :D
