HOWEVER - this is not a 2 channel amp. Although it ships with a footswitch that switches between LDR and HDR, the percieved volume jump between the two is massive. At rehearsal, as part of a loud 5 peice band, i have the Master Volume set at 3o'clock in LDR but only 11o'clock in HDR. Also the in-built reverb is mediocre at best - fine for adding a bit of ambience to low level, home practice situations but thats about it. The FX loop can be a bit temperamental too.
HDR with Detail at 4o'clock, Body at 2o'clock, Mid-boost on, using Bare Knuckle VHII humbuckers in a Hamer Super-Strat is epic. Yet roll off the volume on the guitar and it cleans up to give a 'dirty-clean' that's great for rock rhythm chords etc. Using a Les Paul, same settings on HDR but with the Mid-boost off, is pure Thin Lizzy. Mid-boost on and its Slash. Serisously you could turn up to a gig with just your guitar and amp (no effects) and get some awesome tones.
I have the 2266c version of this amp and its taken me a while to get used to its idiosyncrasies. You almost have to learn to 'play the amp' which is not something you have to do with most modern amps. However the rewards are there. LDR with Detail at 11o'clock and Body at 1o'clock (mid-boost off) gives the most amazing clean tone with a Strat - seriously rivals the best from most 6L6 amps.
Slash uses Vintage modern on tour btw :)
