I can't believe Murakami brought all of you. His books are read all over the world, and i probably won't see any of you in my life, but i love you all anyways. Have a nice life, and keep reading good books :)
@Stephaneleo1 -- no it's not. though it might be in the Hal Leonard volume 2. but it's certainly not in the old real book vol 2.
Drumsteezy, it sounds like a minor blues. my issue is in transcribing the melody, it seemed this was in B minor. does anyone know if this is the actual key of if it was intended to be C minor and the record's flat?
@jaxjagsman i realized it was a B minor blues with a 2/5 turnaround i got this tune mixed up with another song i was supposed to play for a concert, thank you anyway tho :). Stephaneleo thank you both. i know the first part of the melody is a triad on B minor that extends up to the third, and the second run is a minor triad on the 4 chord which goes up to the 6th, and after that it goes (in concert pitch) A, F#, G, D - G, E, F#, C# - F#, D, B, B. at least as far as i can tell
Looks like Murakami has more fans than you could immagine! God do I love that man! And I've started listening to Jazz too thanks to him! Thank's Murakami-san! A hug from Italy!
I just finished the first chapter of After DArk by Haruki Murakami and had to find out about the song, it is mentioned on page 25...I am really enjoying the book so far.
When I reading Murakami's books I can feel hunger, lonliness, I can hear cry for love and I can feel need to be a better man. All of this is jazz, isn't it?
Boy this song brings back memories! I used to get excited when I heard this on the radio because that meant Don McCarthy was coming on for his program, Jazz-The Abstract Truth :,D
Im still finishing After Dark and i dont really enjoy it, his language is too script-style and i dont really like the way he writtes, but he is a very good writter.
@unholy1988 ...wow!!! that is unexpected...well...many might not like the way he writes...at first for me, it is so weird as well....and it can be confusing...but i like it..how do i say it...i like how it can be illogical sometimes..it's like a Topsy-turvy, twisted, and can be sinister story of some one's life...if after dark disappoints you, try other book..kafka on the shore or the wind up bird chronicle...or norwegian wood..or blind willow sleeping woman...its crazy..ahahah
@smasherkean Just picked up Murakami's After Dark today...Waiting for 1Q84. Reserved it from my library...The first 4 chapters are pretty much amazing. Guess he's been out for a while now. Got some catching up to do:)
@crossstitch894 haha I'm in the middle of putting together a "Murakami Playlist" for myself and I'm finding Murakami comments all over the place, so funny. I found 29 songs so far all from his books, and they're all amazing.

Great jazz music; Haruki Murakami gave the name" Five spots after dark " to his best known book, which made this jazz musician known to more people,
(like me, that I noticed just two years ago' reading the book )
Murakami was also inspired by the famous movie " Alphaville " by J.L. Godard , year '65 ; i advise to read the book and to watch the movie
