  • “SU Players Who Boycotted Season Will Be Honored”

    The Urban Sports Hall of Fame has recognize the nine Syracuse University football players who boycotted the 1970 SU season as a means of protesting the school’s unfair treatment of African- American athletes.

    A public acknowledgement coupled with the unveiling of a sign in their honor was held on the corner of East Castle Street and Renwick Avenue in Syracuse. Several of the nine former Orangemen were in attendance.
