  • Karamihan sa mga OFW Zombie at mga Boblaks.. P.I

  • Times are tough for many. If you need to make some money right now here's a guaranteed way to do it...

  • why never come back and which country they went?Should the family know which country they went and search from the country's government immigration about

    them.

  • Tanong ko lang sa Gobyerno. Ano bang programa nila sa mga OFW? 2009 possible umabot sa 17 bilyon dollars ang remittance ng OFW. More than half of 2010 budget yun. Investment ng OFW hinaharang ng Gov't. Sino ba nagbubulsa ng pera ng OFW?

  • it is so sad when the OFW is labeled as heroes.... why are they heroes? what have they done? I understand that they work and help their family but their families should not be expecting monetary help if the FUCKING GOVERNMENT did its job. the people needs opportunity. mamatay na sana lahat nang corrupt sa gobyerno nang pilipinas

  • yan ang ayaw ko sa ugaling pinoy. Pa-asa-asa nalang. Naging OFW ako noon, ang mga pera na pina dala ko, ipinang sugal at ipinambili ng kahit anong bagay na walang kwenta. Ngayon tambay nalang ako, sawa na ako mangibang bansa. dyan magaling tayo, humut-hot

  • maging aral sana sa iba ang nangyari sau.....dapat alamin ninyo kung sulit ang pinag gagastusan ng pinapadala ninyo...at importante ay mag tabi kayo para sa sarili nyo.....as much as possible

  • Problems in life are always present but there is HOPE.There is a CREATOR who can help but UNfortunately we only go to HIM in trouble.GOD wants you to have a personal relationship with HIM not only in trouble. The one who gave you life is available call on HIM & thank GOD.

  • You keep saying the government is corrupt and all that but you dont do anything about it all you do is complain and say you cant do anything about it. The most anyone can do is list the bad things and give no solution. They need organization to help plan what they can do and what they can expect to get as a result.

  • I used to live in the Middle East when my dad was an OFW. It's true that a lot of Pinoys out there go overseas because we lack opportunities here at home. It's a sad cycle that has to keep going unless the government shapes up.

  • Gays are taxpayers too! Filipino gay overseas contract workers are exploited by corrupt government officials. And we suffer much gender discrimination!

  • filipinos work hard...very hard...but a lot of government people abuse/corrupt the citizens/motherland...where do the taxes go? these so called politicians get kick backs on their so caled projects... (thought they should be public servants...) / as long as these "bright boys" govern (or should I say abuse), nothing will happen to the Philippines...

  • When I was visiting the phil I saw bilboards of politicans bragging about the projects they had done. Comparing that to the US, I had to laugh. Why put up a sign if not to brag about some minor achievement.

  • Only the wealthy Filipinos leave the country..how can the very poor leave the Country??they have nothing its only the silly rich.

  • i can not afford to have a good comment. saan nga tayo patutungo! dov' vai! quo vadis! asa man ta! sadinno ti papanantayo, sitaw y mangayattam! nowhere because of currupt government we will all fall into hell! i am not a pessimist but this is what i feel. no works in the country but even the ruler still can afford to cheat the country, ano ba ito. saan tayo patutungo?

  • This report could have been improved by mentioning what drives more than a million Filipinos to leave the country each year to work abroad. Why is there no mention of the IMF & World Bank, whose brutal policies of inflation and devaluation paralyzed the Philippine economy? And that, after draining the Filipinos of their blood, the IMF & World Bank then moved in for the coup de grace by instituting a free trade policy -- which further reduced the already shattered economy to rubble?

  • Why not mention that the country's President is making the situation worse by being interested in helping herself than in helping her countrymen? Why not mention that she recently helped herself to the National Treasury by purchasing two brand new helicopters costing US $30 million for her own personal use? (This in a country whose Air Force doesn't even have a single jet plane!)

  • It is vital that these be mentioned because they are the main reasons why millions of Filipinos are so desperately poor that they are willing to endure the pain of leaving their families behind to work abroad just to earn a living.

  • Correction: The first sentence of part 2 of my comment should have read: "the country's President (who has been dubbed as "the most corrupt leader in Southeast Asia") is making the situation worse by being MORE interested in helping herself. . ."

  • Dear LuisianaGatorGirl,

I agree with you 100%. IMF & World Bank did it in Zimbabwe, yes, by "brutal policies" called ESAP! IMF loaned out money to Zimbabwe with enslaving strings attached! For every $1 loaned out, Zimbabwe has to pay back $30. Enslaving profits, which led to the devaluing of Zimbabwe dollar, a recipe for corruption, greed, and brain drain. Today in Zimbabwe, the rich get richer operating US$-black markets, and the poor get poorer enslaved by sanctions too!

  • That's heartbreaking and I truly sympathize with our brothers and sisters in Zimbabwe. Joseph Stiglitz, former chief economist of the World Bank and Nobel Prize winner for Economics, says that the IMF & World Bank deliberately destroy third world economies for their own gain (see link below).

  • Dear LouisianaGatorGirl,

Thank you very much for your response! I am going to direct some people from home to read your response. I could not post that address on youtube, and you must be lucky! You have a blessed day!

  • "For killing an allegedly abusive employer"..?

Does that say anything to anyone else?

  • This situation is not unique to the Philippines of course. There is a large diaspora of people from many countries who take advantage of employment away from their home country. Mexicans in America, Turks in Europe, Indonesians in the middle east, and so on and so forth.

I would like to see AlJazeera post a clip on the solutions to this world wide problem. I would like to see anyone post a clip like that.

Maybe Ron Paul can solve all the ills of the world.

  • Global poverty is ripping apart families especially in the developing world, and Zimbabwe is not spared of this global menace either! Deaths are occurring back home, and at more times than none, families are havimg to bury their loved ones in the absence of other family members abroad - due to global poverty and its machinations! Thank you AlJazeera and Youtube! You keep informing the international community of the problems existing between the "haves" and the "have-nots".

  • what religion is peaceful? but i am sick of everyone talking about religion as though they know about them..yet you dont even know what a talmud is or history or spread of religion...
