  • Our dog had a seizure for the first time a few days ago. It was as you described in your first video; we took him outside, he had antoher seizure, we thought he was dead for a sec. He was still pretty out of it for the rest of the day and was shaking his head a lot for about an hour afterwards. The doc said it could be ringing in his ears. Thank you for your video! I know I'll be calmer next time it happens.

  • You are such a great owner :) so calm and collective for your dog. <3

  • did you ever find out whats wrong with her? my dog had grand mal seizures and come to find out he had valley fever (southwestern u.s. fungus in dirt) and tick fever.

  • Like Shadow, Asa acts completely normal after a seizure. It's so crazy! I mean, he is tired and lays around but as far as his attitude he acts just fine. I also find that during the seizure Asa isn't really "there" - cause when it's over it's like he has woken up to find me sitting with him and he looks at me like "what are you doing down here with me!?". Hate that it happens but thanks again, knowledge is power.

  • LOL, I like how you turn the camera away when she starts pooping XD It's like how I turn the corner outside my house and I see my dog squatting there and I'm all like "Oops sorry"

  • When these started happening did you ever notice any personality changes in her?

  • @WGBraves24 no her personality is still the same. More laid back if anything. I always have a bad thought that it could be a brain tumor the way she shakes her head every once in a while...

  • @TheLifeofShadow the shaking could just be a side effect of the grand mal seizures, that's a pretty big thing for the brain to go through, seizures are a lot of overload on the brain and body. having seizures doesnt mean she has a tumor. dogs have a lot of the same disabilities that humans do, including seizure disorders, probably because their brains are similar and complex. shes a beautiful dog, is she a black german shepherd? my sister used to have petite mal seizures when she was a kid.

  • @TheLifeofShadow is she part German Shepherd? I read they (and Dachshunds) are a breed who seem to be susceptible to epilepsy. Hope that assures you it probably is not a tumor.
