  • wow, Bill Bayessa (I have no idea how to spell is last name) looks so young in this video. To think he's still doing news with KPRC today. He's been with them for a very long time.

  • KRPC also aired "The Joker's Wild" and "Tic Tac Dough".

  • @TimFrith24 I though KRIV carried 'The Joker's Wild' and 'Tic Tac Dough'.

  • how come this doesn't sound anything like the other "be there" promos

  • wait, they had two different be there theme songs?

  • 83 - Be There

    84 - Let's All Be There

85 - More of the "Let's All Be There"

86 - started the "Come Home"

  • Goof up-- I can tell by the music and graphics that this promo is from 1984, not 1983.

Good promo though, Mitt! (And I also enjoy the SotC clips.)

  • Thanks, before I change it, could you be more specific? I was at KPRC the summer of 83 and 84, so I had a 50/50 shot, not bad for 25 years later...:)

  • Thanks for posting this! I grew up watching 2 a bit more than the others in general so this is a treat.

BTW, kinda confused about the Richard Simmons clip at 0:10. I thought 39 had his show at the time.

  • he appeared as a guest on our midday show.

  • Ah, I see. Who was the host of that program? For some reason, I want to say it was Katharine Blissard... but I only remember that show she had early in the morning. The face of the host looks familiar though!

  • I don't remember her name, I remember The Nancy Ames Show, but that was long before this....someone is watching who knows, there always is.....patience is bliss...:)

  • what was the name of the midday show?

  • Katharine Blissard host of This Day with Katharine (1970s1980s; deceased)

  • someone asked me if Family Feud was on KPRC back then....I think this confirms it.

  • I was the one who asked. Thanks for posting this; I always wanted to find out what KPRC was like during the early 1980's.

  • 0:48: 2nd Jeopardy pilot from 1983.
