Thanks for posting the lyrics, which are not easy to understand sometimes from the audio.
Is this rendition from early part of Kumarji's career? (Before his illness). I remember it in the first of the four part cassette collection that HMV published in 19990s.
absolutely brilliant, notes flow like river ganga, playful yet authoritative, like lord Shiv dancing, you can almost feel his presence if you hear with your eyes closed.
Immortal performance...I had the great good fortune of meeting and greeting Kumarji just a weeks before his sad demise, while we were returning from the Elephanta (where he had performed) Festival to Mumbai by ferry. Raja Kale who had accompanied him was there too. The maestro was unusually quiet little did we know (I had introduced my daughter to him) that the Great Swan would be flying off so soon...alone
I had the good fortune of meeting Kumarji with Vasundharaji at their home in Dewas some 25 years ago.
The one hour I spent at their home is etched in my memory for ever. He showed me around the house and showed and gave me some books about folk songs. Memorable indeed.

If my memory serves me right, this beautiful recording of Shankara was made (as was the equally tuneful Dhani) before his operation!
