true. and there are worries about longevity since singapore has limited population. you don't expect them to be there every week. for now they are concentrating on getting locals for manpower but in the long run they'll get foreigners again coz singaporeans hate to work on weekends, if it would really have a long run. but i heard the pay is good.

The music used for this production number was created by Walt Disney Imagineering and is the load/unload soundtrack for The Great Movie Ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida. Was Disney asked for permission or paid for the use of this copyrighted audio?

Hi Bood523. Thanks for letting us know this. The song was written in 1937 for the movie Hollywood Hotel. Since then, it has been associated for all things movies, no wonder Disney used it for their Great Movie Ride, good choice!

I did not mean that Disney wrote the song originally. This recording, with the orchestra warming up, the clarinet intro, the bell sound effect, and the voices saying "Quiet on the set! This is a take!" etc was specifically arranged and recorded by Disney. The instrumental interludes between the lyrics are timed so that the Cast Member who hosts the ride can introduce himself, and the tempo the end of the song, with "And... Cut!" etc is timed for the ride. You stole this even if you don't know it

Also, there are at least 3 other versions of the song (that don't include a reference to Donald Duck) that are used for background music at Universal Studios Florida. Or, you could have just spent the money to record your own arrangement instead. While your target audience might not notice this, it is a bad thing to do in the theme park industry, where many people will notice. Not only are you giving yourself a bad reputation, but also a black eye to Universal. Copyright matters to them.

Do you not think that they would have already asked for permission before building and using copyright items/songs? Hello its Universal Studios. Its in Japan & also in Florida. Surely Disney would have approved. And a Major project like this would have been paid extra attention to. Copyright materials would have been the top priority. You need to chill.
