One of the Two Melbourne innings inside a week of each other which changed the destiny of Sri Lankan cricket. You could argue the history of Sri Lanka cricket can be broken into two halves. The Sri Lanka from 1981 - January 1996 and the Sri Lanka from January 1996 - 2012. Few give Kaluwitharana credit for the two half centuries he played, he literally changed the destiny of SL cricket. Had he failed, he would have been put back to no.7 or dropped. There would have been no World Cup Win later.
