  • at 7:06 look at gabu and it ends at 7:07

  • and at 6:09 look at berry

  • at 6:09 look at gabu

  • why is it when you make friends with someone different your other friends put bad info into your head making you think wrong of the person?

  • why ppl take Mei and Gabu's relationship as love? they're just close friends. like Frodo and Sam from "The Lord of the Rings" [who everyone take as gays 2]. why can't ppl understand that friendship, just friendship, could be shown that way 2? as a strong relationship, when you truly love your friend but its not like romantic love?

  • @RaitaFoxy13 I know, right? The "gay pairings" trend was annoying with LotR as well (and you wouldn't believe the amount of slash I found about Tintin X__X). It's frustrating that good old friendships can't be left alone and appreciated for what they are anymore, like a close relationship can't be valuable enough if romance isn't brought into the picture. Where has simple brotherly love gone nowadays? T_T

  • If may was girl it be less weird for me to watch.

  • Simb'a dad died

    bambi's mother died

    and now this?

  • oh shit they both found out

  • =D homosexual cartoons...WHEEEEEEEEE

  • geez, the way they're talking about their friendship it sounds more like some kind of secret love life.

that said, i honestly hope it isnt. that would be so wrong on so many levels.

  • @bleefinson i know aye ive been thinking that since the start and 3:08 pretty much confirmed it >.< but its still an awesome anime!!!!!

  • 6:14 goats are friends,not food

  • LOL I'ts funny how all the goats are white and all the wolves are brown/black and they can't be friends. O.O Animal racisim?

  • @ropeburn2 Not to be confused as an insult with arashi no Yuru Ni (I cried in later episodes) It has great dubbing perfect animation, and should be celebrated as a beautifull movie!

  • For some reason it just sounds kinda funny for me to hear a goat with an Irish accent, and yet it feels proper too.

  • 2:21 wow, he's quick to judge

is he like that all the time?

"Dude dude, i saw garbanzo hunting one of goats less ravaging than the rest"

He's a teaitor bring him in!

  • Goats are friends ... NOT food ^-^

  • CUT THAT CRAAAP!!!!!!!

  • all goats are scottish and irish.. lol

  • I just realized the wolf pack leader is the one who's ear got bit of by his mom :U

I wasn't paying much attention to that lil detail till his grandma brought it up again xp xp

  • T^T

  • 6:05 my favorite part. X3

  • the wolves use foul language and the goats dont

    lol!

  • Puzzlingly, Mei has a flashback to something he didn't see. Mei's back was to Gabu when Gabu decided to eat Mei after the lunch. <.<;

  • i checked yes asia and i can't find the movie. do you know anywhere else i can buy the japenese version of this movie?

  • You know what, that old goat, he sounds JUST like Splinter from TMNT. The good TMNT. From the 80's.

  • Lol theres no animetards here

  • @TheSuppilo Yeah, it's pretty weaboo-free.

  • the goat at 0:51 looks like a dog

  • CUT THE CRAPPP!

  • I was looking for an asian movie and ended up watching this, its pretty good

  • "That's just wrong."

    "Not to mention creepy..."

Ha. I think the characters smell gay too.

  • 1 Disliker knows that WOLFS EAT GOATS AND TOASTERS TOAST TOAST.

  • The Elder sounds a little bit like Donovitch the dwarf from Radiata Stories...

  • @Draccaj Your face kinda reminds me of Emo Luigi.

  • @GiromCalica lol wut

  • That old lady sheep sounds more like an old man...

  • The leader wolf swears too much.

  • every time the old goat coughs it makes me need to cough XDD

  • Gira reminds of Raditz from DBZ or Vegeta. Anyway, this is still a great movie, but the relationship Gabu and Mei share is a little bit creepy but interesting enough.

  • I'm reaaallly getting tired of people giving away lines/parts of the movie in the comments. especially since they're thumbed up and right under the video so I can't avoid them until after they've done their damage.

  • "Man thats just wrong!"

  • @PadFootJr1 WRONG!! (The famous word of Lex Luther)

  • 6:34 skankwolf is pleased

  • I hate Mei's grandmother, at first I thought she was going to tell him to trust his heart and be friends with Gabu. Turns out she was just fueling the fire. >.<

  • "The way they were holding each other it was hard to ignore."

    "Man, that's just wrong."

    Awww.

I remember watching Forrest Gump when I was little and hearing all the swear words. The F-Bomb didn't mean anything to me which is a bit funny when I think about it now.

More than than being rude, I think swear words let you know about someone's personality. For example, the speech and voice type of the pack leader is very suiting. He's a rough guy but not bad I think.

    Thanks for uploading!

  • I love this movie! Thank you so much for the uplaod! ^_^

  • lololol "your forgetting ONE THING GOATS AREEEEEEEEE FOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRR Eaaaaaaaatinggggggggggggggggg" LOLOLOL

  • @animegirl667 Darn right. Rabbits, cows, pigs, sheep, and goats.

  • The leader goat sounds like splinter

  • Nice, but there's a lot of unnecessary swearing in this. You could replace a lot of them and it'd still fit. For example, "Cut the crap," could be replaced with "Cut it out!"

  • @RockyGemsCarly you think the word crap is a swear word? How have you survived the internet this long??

  • @Sakurarainstorm No, I'm fine with it, but this movie has a more childish tone, so I don't think parents who buy this movie for like, 7 year olds would like that. It's just common sense for movie distribution.

  • @RockyGemsCarly That's true, but 'cut the crap' is in the original Japanese version as well. Unwise wording for a children's movie or not, this dub is just translating correctly.

  • @Sakurarainstorm I know. All the same, not all translations are made literal, so a Western audience can enjoy it more. Pom Poko is a good example of this.

  • @RockyGemsCarly

in the original, the characters said "Bastard" about two times i think.

  • @RockyGemsCarly

So in the Japanese version the mom WAS flashing swear words to the dad in Morse Code! I knew it! XD I can't read Morse Code so I didn't know but suspected. That was a funny part.

It was "Jerk Jerk Jerk" or something in the English subtitles.

  • @Serasia You mean Ponyo. Pom Poko has raccoons with large you-know-whats that they call "Raccoon Pouches" in English XD

  • @RockyGemsCarly

Oh. lol. Don't know how that happened.

Actually, I do. I misread stuff all the time. It is funny sometimes.

  • @Serasia They really swore in Ponyo? XD

Besides the borderline bestiality, that's the most innocent Miyazaki movie there is!

  • @RockyGemsCarly

    Well, no, they don't.

I was just talking about something I thought about when the mom was doing the flashlight morse code. I wondered if she was saying something different in the Japanese subtitles (it said jerk in English but I wondered what they'd put in the Japanese translation of the morse code). I thought it would be kind of funny if the Japanese morse translation was something meaner than 'jerk'.

  • @Serasia Well, in the dub, the lights read BUG OFF, so maybe it was a little closer to that... XD

  • @RockyGemsCarly It's Japanese. Cussing isnt a big deal over there, neither is blood.

  • @Shaeam I know, but here in the Western countries, bad words are a huge deal. I don't know anybody who'd let their kid watch a movie with this kind of language. It's just a small imperfection in an otherwise decent movie is all I'm saying.

  • @RockyGemsCarly I see no problems with it either.

It's just a word after all, you can't keep children sheltered from words they're bound to hear anyway, maybe from their dad, or in public, or in a movie it's parents watched.

  • How does the grandma know this...? It's not like she was there.

  • .\ /. ^

  • Barry's awesome, with his Australian accent and all. <3 And his mane.

  • 2:43 - 3:00 awkward....

  • -GOATS -ARE -FOR -EATING!!!!!

  • "Most of us were wiped out."

"Did many of you manage to get away?

    "I don't know..."

WHAT?! You just said- urg! I hate it when movies do that.

  • "Why can't we be friends, why can't we be friends?"

  • lol, "where the hell is Gabu?!"

  • can someone fucking say BUSTED

  • I think Giro and the goat elder can also make good friends since they both think in the same way.

  • they are screwd

  • 3:14 nice face! X-D

  • OMG at the begining when the mother was eaten by the wolf and she bit the ear off of one of them, that one wolf that got its ear ripped off was the Alpha!

  • 7:01 CUT THE CRAAAAP

  • omg thats so sad that his mam died and i just noticed the wolf pack leader it the one whose ear was ripped off

  • You know what's funny? I actually thought at the beginning of the movie one of the wolves tore off a hoof from the mother goat, but at the end of this part I learned the goat did the opposite to one of the wolves by the ear! strange how I think sometimes...

  • he swore again lol

  • omg i just noticed..the leader of the wolf is missing an ear..so that means thats the ear mei's mom ripped off..

  • lol wtf.."the way they were holding eachother" XDDDDD

  • XD Oh You!

  • The old man retelling the story of the night of gay passion made me lol so much especially when that goat said "man thats just wrong" 1:18

  • I don't wanna sound like a jerk, but personally, I don't like the voices Gabu and Mei, but everyone else sounds great! Please don't take it the wrong way.

  • I take that back, I like Gabu. (But it's pronounced wrong....it's "Gahh-boo") But you guys did a great job!

  • 7:38

NO not into the pit! IT BURRRNSS!!!!

  • U HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST OF ME!

  • @IIIRobIII mei should have lied! FUCK HONESTY SAVE YOURSELVES. cya COVER YOUR ASS!!!

  • @IIIRobIII ENOUGH! MY SHIP SAIL IN THE- I mean

I'LL DECIDE HIS PUNISHMENT IN THE MORNING.

  • @Arceus9295 HOW ABOUT A GOAT, FOR LUCK?

mei: YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!

  • @IIIRobIII WELL DONE WOLF!! GABU'S ONCE AGAIN PUNISHED!! CUM! LOOK, ALREADY THE FLOCK IS RETURNING TO DESTRUCTION! THE BIRDS ARE DYING!! ISN'T IT BEAUTIFUL? ASS IT IS WRITTEN, YOU, WOLF, ARE THE VILLAIN OF KORIDAI!!

  • @IIIRobIII Cannot listen to movie anymore without dying of laughter.

  • @IIIRobIII

    BEWARE THE PIT

  • @IIIRobIII At least Ganon is not alone anymore.

  • @IIIRobIII "THE CHAINS!!!!"

  • @IIIRobIII

Never thought I'd see a CD-I reference outside of YouTube Poop.

  • This is like a wild verision of the movie babe. The traitor aspect is very well written.

  • Giro is so pretty. even if he is evil.

  • 6:10 = =D

  • I absolutely love how a group of fans with a low budget did 10x better then "professional" companies that have thousands of dollars at their disposal.

  • We just tried our best. We wanted to do the movie justice, hence why we took our time with it, opted for a 5.1 mix rather than a plain stereo one, and why we are still tweaking it now.

  • When do you guys plan on releasing it? This would make a great movie for the family to watch on Christmas.

  • We won't be releasing the entire DVD. What we will be making available is the 5.1 AC3 soundtrack, which you can then re-author into the original japanese DVD release; TBS have decided a full re-release of the movie with the English soundtrack isn't warranted. We'll be putting up a video soon outlining how to do this in the future.

  • Sorry if my last post didn't clarify that; that's what I meant to do. Anyways, you guys did a great job on the film. On what budget did you guy work with? And how large was your crew?

  • Total budget: $100.00 AU, to buy the original DVD and the original CD soundtrack. We already had the equipment, and everything was done pro-bono. There were five of us. One sound engineer / voiceartist, and four other voiceartists. The credits will be up soon enough with some more details as to who did what.

  • So the multiple voices that are in the movie are all played by 5 voice actors? It would be pretty awesome to see what you guys had to work with. Are you guys some sort of company to do a DUB of this quality? What other project do you guys tend to do besides Dubbings?

Jesus, sorry for all the questions xD

  • The crediting for the voiceacting will show who voiced whom. And we're not an official company; we're simply folks who have experience in voiceacting and sound engineering who decided to give this a go. The setup for recording was rather simple, and will be listed in the crediting as well for those curious to know what was involved.

  • As I said before, for an independent group of fans, you guys sure kicked funimation in the ass xD Anyhoo~ when do you guys plan on releasing the 5.1 Audio track?

  • We'll make the two versions (one that syncs to the NTSC DVD, the other to the THORAnime version) available beginning of December, along with instructions of how to re-author the DVD so that you can have your own disc with the English dub.

  • Mind if I help? I can do some work in photoshop to make a english box cover that people can simply print out on a normal peice of paper, and then you guys can just give them a download link to it.

How come your only making the audio available and not the MKV/AVI?

  • We already have a DVD cover concept, which can be found on furaffinity if one does a search for "one stormy night english dvd", a printable version of which will be made available when the audio track is made available.

And, we want people to buy the movie legitimately, hence why we won't make an MKV or AVI available ourselves.

  • I enjoy the fact that you want people to support the DVD movie, but A sad fact is that this is the internet... People can simply download a copy in 20 minutes for free by a simple google search.

To be fully 100% honest, I havent bought the DVD. I originally downloaded a video because of the enlish subtitles, but after this work, Im planning on fully supporting the dvd by buying it online.

  • Well, the audiotrack we are releasing will only synchronise properly with the DVD version of the movie, and unless folks do some additional work on the soundtrack to make it sync with any other versions of the movie, it won't sync correctly.

  • You should talk to TBS again to see if you can be allowed to distribute digital copies for the original DVD Price, and give them the revenue.

I only downloaded the DVD for english subs, but after this im planning on ordering the DVD online. But first, I want to see if you can get that deal with TBS again.

  • TBS aren't interested at this stage, so we will just make the audio track available over Christmas with instructions how to incorporate it into a reauthored DVD using freely downloadable applications.

  • You might need to have different versions of the instructions for MAC & Linux users.

Anyway's, what future endeavours do you plan on attempting?

  • Linux users tend to be pretty savvy when it comes to figuring out such things, and there tend to be Mac-equivalents of the software that needs to be used. The instructions will be for Windows-based systems only.

There won't be any new endeavours for a while, unless an (unlikely) sequel to Arashi is made.

  • Plenty of Linux users arent as savvy as people expect them to be. 70% of linux users only got it for the fact that its free. Im a frequent poster of the ubuntu (a form of linux) forums, and the threads tend to be full of questions like "How do I download a .torrent file?" and "How do I run windows programs on linux?"

As for mac users:... Meh >_>

  • What programs were you planning on showing the people? Theres a simple program called WINE for linux, which basically allowes people to use windows programs on linux. It tends to be a hit or miss. I can EASILY run it through to see if they work properly, so when you upload the video you can simply add in the description: "Linux users: It runs just fine under WINE." Or "Linux users: You have to do *so and so* to get these programs to work" Sometimes, you can find the same programs for linux.

  • Once we have the Windows instructions up, if you want to make some suggestions for equivalent Linux or Mac software, go right ahead; it'd be appreciated.

  • Aru Hareta Hi Ni.

    Lets hope they make it.

  • The movie is actually a condensation of all seven books in the series, the seventh actually written *after* the movie to wrap it up as the movie does. A sequel would require either a stand-alone script, or a new book (or series of books) to be written.

  • Oh. I was looking forward to trying to read them, thinking the movie was only one part in the saga... >_>

  • If they make a prequel/sequel how long do you have to wait to do an english redub of the movie?

  • If we catch wind of such a project, the first thing we will ask is whether or not an English dub is intended. If it is, we leave it be. If not, we will once again do the voicework for the English dub, and perhaps if the movie is successful enough TBS (if they make it) will license it.

  • @StormyNightRedubTeam IT BURNS MY HEAD HURTS LIKE FUCK!!! nothing makes sense anymore T_T this movie is awesome u guys did a very good job but the plot is crazy!

  • good GOD the wolf stereotype! THE IGNORANCE IS KILLING ME! its the THE DAMN CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT ALL OVER AGAIN!! WHEN WILL WE LEARN!!! T_T

  • its like romeo and juliet BUT REVERSE! this is the WEIRDEST GAY MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! X_X and by that i mean this is the only gay movie i have ever seen and the messed up part is there both straight!!!............. I THINK! !_! nothing makes sense anymore! T_T

  • Oo the leader wolf, it lost it ear. and in the start mother og mei ript og a ear of a wolf

  • CUT THE CRAAAAP!

    lol

  • The voice actor for Mina (Mii) could have done much better :(

  • YOU IDIOT! HOW COULD YOU FORGET SUCH A SIMPLE THING LIKE GOATS...ARE...FOR...EATIN?!

    lol!

  • @HunterxColleen darn right!

  • @HunterxColleen It reminds me of Finding Nemo: "fish are friends, not food"

  • poor guys

  • The one who plays Barry did a great job.

  • Whats up with the goat at 1:38 Is he like suspost to resemble the director or something?

Since this movie is based on one of the book by Yūichi Kimura you think there will be a sequel/spin off?

  • No idea, except that he is the only goat with black hair and a patch over on eye.

The movie is based off a condensation of all seven books in the series, not just the first, so it's unlikely there will be a sequel unless someone pitches the idea to TBS.

  • Sure I can pitch an idea or two to them. But I highly think that they will actually read my message or even look at it. Any way for me to contact them?

  • when u gonna do next part ? i cant wait to see what happens next

  • Next part should be up soon.

  • Actually, the movie is based off of all 7 books in the series.

The guy pretty much exclusively writes in the same genre though. It's plausible that one of his other series might get a similar treatment.

  • I like Barry's interpretation and accent. It gives it sort of the savage predator feel that Barry is supposed to have.

  • thats sooo sad at the end. *crys*

  • This is amazing you are all doing a wonderful job! I love this movie I'm so glad I found this, the quality is excellent and the voice acting is top notch! Keep up the good work guys cant wait for more!

  • Glad you like it. The next part will take a couple of weeks at least, but it's on the way.

  • We considered quite a few rough-type voices for him, and actually the voice we intend to use is a bit of a rough 'london-punk' / cockney accent. We'll likely do a second vocal track with alternative voices so that people can pick and choose which voicetrack they prefer. (Which won't be a problem for blu-ray, but for DVD we might be running out of room on the disc).

  • Poor Mei and Gabu :( so sad when Mei's grandma tells him how his mother died

  • Fantastic job with part 6, and I get your point now that it was kind of funny having Gabu and Barry having a older tone of voice =D, but either way it is a REALLY Amazing dub. Can't wait to see how you rewritten the script for the rest of the movie. ^^

  • Yay! You guys will never stop :D

  • YAY finaly part 6 thx dub team

  • BARRY IS FRIKKEN SWEET >D

  • THANK YOU! :)

  • Lovely, I am enjoying this so much. I cannot wait till the rest, or at least my favorite part, comes out :3

I know you have to take time on them though, and the wait is well worth the while. Please, keep of the magnificent work ~♥

  • Thanks indeed.

  • Barry is awesome! =O

  • Glad you like his current voice, even though it is still just a stand-in; we may consider making it his official voice, but we're still interested in hearing the efforts of another person we had in mind for the part.

  • Yays! A new part! :D

By all means, take as long as you need to prepare each segment, but I'm eagerly awaiting every one!

  • Very good! I can't wait for the next part - though I know you guys have to take your time.

  • Amazing! The best part so far; I like the new goat voices too.

  • I can't stress enough how glad I am that I came across this channel by chance. What you guys are doing here is just awesome, and I think few people could pull it off any better. I'm really looking forward to the final version of this.

  • Thanks for the support. We're giving it our best, and you should be happy to know that the final 5.1 rendition sounds much better than the youtube compressed 2-channel track.

  • Yay! Nice work! ^^

  • Please get part 7!

  • alright part 6 finaly. great job guys ^^
