  • This is a christian worship song isn't it? I'm sure this song served as a guide for later christian pop songs.

  • nearly 11,000 views. A tad over double the total views for After the fire UK's channel.

In the words of Peter Banks when we met last - "How's life at the top?" =D

  • so cool.... but they need to dress up original new wave not hip hop!!!

  • their hit which went the highest inthe UK chart was only no40 in 79 maybe it should have done betterl

  • Heh, Christian "rock" doesn't get any better with age, does it?

  • The Who had this sort of sound with that drumbeat back in the early eighties.

    Crackin' track!

  • Um, this was recorded in the early eighties.

  • @Pulsar205 i think you will find the Ivor Twiddell is a Chief Super Intendant with Gloucestershire Police. I know many of the officers and they didn't know they had a rock star in their midst but I doubt many will have the nerve to take the mick when they meet him. Real top man and loved him with the umbrella with Union Jack decals on his head.

  • I Love ATF!

  • Our local Christian radio station in Oklahoma City in 1985 had a manager who claimed this is a Christian band. So he played this song ALOT. Whether or not they were, this is still a COOL song! (And the lyrics are a tad Christian!)

  • the "laser coloured single",lol, yes i had it too.

did mr twiddle pass away? i am sure reading in nme, not that long after this came out, that he suffered a heart attack.

    (hope i am wrong)

  • Twiddell, I think, I still alive (according to wikipedia he's in the police). He retired from ATF due to 'health'

You may be thinking of Pete King, who died of cancer about '83/84/85 :(

  • Ivor is now a policeman . It was his replacement Pete King that died.

  • got this one too

  • Still got this single on orange vinyl...oh those were the daze!

  • I remember the orange vinyl single - didn't the sleeve have a cut-out of a lazer on it or something corny? And didn't one of the musicians wear a tweed jacket and cap? Those were the days, haha!

  • Tweedy was Ivor Twidell

  • Anybody got anything on "Life in the City"? I guess we have to thank those old farts like Dave Lee Travis from old Radio 1 days not getting bribed with enough KFC's to feed his fat gut to plug ATF - they should have done a lot better than they did.

  • Seeing them again November - ee! I'm so excited

  • The 'Signs of Change' album was still my favourite ATF period and they played some exiting gigs at the old Marquee in Wardour street around 1977 /1978...

  • This is currently the most viewed Laser Love video. Wow! (Okay, there's only like 4, but still)

  • First got into ATF at school in the early eighties - they were Guildford based I think, saw them at Surrey Uni, a great live band.

  • 1000 Views! Only fitting that it's an ATF oldie that hits the 1K mark first. I saw them last night. AWESOME

  • Very nice to hear them again. If you have more time make one of 'Take me higher', the song that triggered me to became an ATF fan in 1981

  • Yes.. Take Me Higher is a very nice one, especially the live solo. I was planning to anyway but I'll do that next then

  • good. this song is bit better than the other atf 1s u have. good slidey

  • GREAT to find some actual ATF on here at last!! Nice slideshow, like the patterns!1

The music, of course, is a classic as well!!

Laser Laser lurve... ooh oh urh oh ooh oh
