The best and most memorable track in the entire game was the one during the fight with Dracula. This is one of the greatest games of all time as far as i'm concerned.
this was my favorite NES castlevania game. i think true gamers will agree, and rookies want the quick slash games like 1 and 3, though they were great too.
Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great games such as the Castlevania series. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
I first heard the music of this game in 1991, when I was a wee bitty thing, and it made a serious impact. There's something subtle and haunting about it, and it suited the mood of the game perfectly. This soundtrack stands out to me as one of the first game soundtracks that managed to invoke an emotional response from me, and that was FEAR.
This game rescued me from so many rainy days when i was around 10 years old... loved t and i still do... If you want to play this game again you can download a nintendo emulator for your pc and play it on there.. Nestopia is a good emulator just google for it and download it.. google for "Nintendo Roms" to find the game and download that too
I actually think James likes this game; he only gave it a bad review as a joke. That's the point of AVGN: it's all a joke, so people shouldn't take it too seriously... however, that's not to say that James Rolfe shouldn't be taken seriously... whatever, it's for entertainment purposes, so people shouldn't hate on this game.
Then you should take a look at his re-review of Simon's quest and, his review of all the others Castlevania games. That should help you see his opinion.
That's the angry video game nerd speaking; James Rolfe himself is totally different... in fact, roll n' rocker isn't even his favorite beer! He said so in an interview, I think, or maybe on his page... whatever, his videos are still great, and so is this game's music.
u gotta be fucking kidding me...no one hated this game....what fuckin planet did you spawn outta cuz all loves this blood clot shit... ya meeeeeee!!!!
I didn't really like the gameplay of CV2:SQ, but I definitely loved the soundtrack. I haven't played this game in over 10 years and it brought back many memories from 20 years ago.
I don't know that "Simon's Quest" was ever really as polarizing as history says. The hatred thrown in its direction, recently, is the result of the Angry Nintendo Nerd's "review," which his (bless their hearts) sophisticated audience took as gospel in completely missing the point of satire.'

It's similar to what GameSpot did to "Mario Kart 64" and 1up to "Donkey Kong Country." All scorn directed at these games is the direct result of one individual's inexplicably overvalued opinion.
@halomano07 that it is. I wish we could hear it longer. I love this game. This was the first one I played. My best friend and I used to wander around for hours kicking ass and figuring out where to go and what to do. The exploration aspect is what makes the game so great.
I know this is all about classic gaming music...but being the HUGE Silent Hill fan that you are...you really need to do a GMAT on those for Halloween. Remember is "Game" Music Appreciation Theater, not "Classic Game" Music Appreciation Theater. All games man....DO IT!!!
Just bustin' your balls man. But it would be sweet though.
See you this weekend...maybe. After 6 weeks of playing Silent Hill games...I'm now lost.
Actually I don't remember any castlevania game been using night song of the series, thought, bloody tears song "day song" is very used song in other castlevania games. How ever this game is really great even thought it lacks of musics the songs were still very awesome. Even though there could be more in my opinion. I wish they would make another Simon's quest kind of game. Ofcourse there are Symphony Of A Night but most of castlevanias are just way too trapped in to castle area.
This will always be my favorite Castlevania. Best in the series.

This particular game also had the best 'game over' tune in the entire series, imo. The others seem bland in comparison.

The daylight song in the fds release owns too I like it more than the nes version.
