@Quelthias correct me if im wrong but if u get to lavos via epoch the ship is distroyed. if you get to lavos via the black omen or the bucket in the end of time you get this ending which means that they still have epoch and they can travel through time freely :)

@CatMuto Actually I think Schala merged sometime when Lavos was destroyed. As Lavos was erased from being embeded in the universe's timeline he must have found a way to escape total collapse by merging with Schala and causing events in Chrono Cross.

Actually, according to the DS version, this is ending #1, because it's most likely the first you'll ever see.

Yeah, and Reunion is #2, because it's plausible to get that ending on your first run too, because you can still use the sidequests to level up to beat Lavos. And yeah, where Kino says "Ayla VERY strong" was either because of Nintendo's censorship policies or because of a translation mistake. The DS version has a slightly better script, though a lot of the complaints of spending tons of time working on th game in ending #1 were removed. Like the one about Magus's long hair. Sigh...

I was linking Chrono Cross with this game and I saw the pendant that marle had on an child that was brought to the future. I also noticed something about lucca's house being burned down in chrono cross. I don't know if these connections had anything to do with anything... but I thought that was the case.

This would also explain why Schala has blonde hair in Chrono Cross and Kid comes across as being blonde rather than blue-haired. Though of interesting note Serge has blue hair like Magus. The game has tons of speculation and a sequel for anything would be a plus

Some of the residents of Zeal and Laruba village also had blue hair-but it was kinda purplish, but Marle descends from Kino and Ayla who are blond. But Magus is sorta proof that people in the CT/CC universe can alter their appearance via magic most likely. Magus as a kid had light blue hair and normal ears and eyes-but Magus, passing himself off as a Mystic, has red eyes and pointy ears and even fangs(in the official artwork and anime scenes you can see them).

If Crono really did save the future through defeating Lavos, then I doubt anyone would remember what happened since defeating Lavos=altering all of history. If you do something in the past you may alter the future, even replace yourself with an alternate version of you with different memories! So how can all these people remember Crono and co.'s heroic deeds even after defeating Lavos?

Also, Lara, Lucca's mother, literally appears in that ending if you chose to travel back in time to save her. It's awesome when anything you do in the past changes the future. That's what real life is also about, too; our actions can change the future either for the better or for the worse, depending on our actions.

While this is just the normal ending, in my opinion it's also the best. Plus, the ending is much shorter and different if you chose to crash the Epoch on Lavos' lair, the Black Omen. The disappointing part about the shorter version of this ending is that you don't get to see what happens to Frog, Ayla, Robo, and Magus (if you brought him into your group) after the events of Crono Trigger. This ending is better, in that it reveals what happens to each of the other four characters.
