Some additional info: the Coxswain actually was from the ASR Nereus, the Rowers are indeed of the DSRV Laga. The boat started on the left side of the ball which caused the crab.

Bad stearing, no mistake by the rower. I have seen the same crab with olympic rowers which also hit the ball and almost smashed him out.

The crab is not the "work" of Nereus, but D.S.R.V. Laga's bow...

Thanks rsvanri, I've updated the video information. I should have recognised that was not a Nereus crew -- a few years ago I lost at Henley to a very fart Nereus crew!

actually, the crab was the work of the coxswain, who couldn't avoid the large bright red buoy.
