The line is reopening, the Dudley Tunnel however wont be used for the Midland Metro as it will divert through the town centre before rejoining the South Staffordshire Line towards Merry Hill and Brierley Hill!
me and my missis walked through that tunnel today, was knackered by the time we walked all the way back over the top. the tunnel runs from just N.E of where new goes under thedudley southern bypass, right up to just passed dudley motor company (vauxhall) between trindle road and the bypass. you can see the line on google earth/map
@123lovefishing that's interesting! i was hoping to see if i could go down there myself but read down there that the tunnel is now on private land so would therefore be trespassing if we were to go there, for the purposes of two teenage photographers; photos on flickr i've seen of it are beautiful :)
generally does anyone know what this tunnel is like access-wise? like whether realistically you would be able to walk down there relatively unhindered?
