One good thing about playing Hamm with sun glasses, is that you can possibly READ those depressing lines, rather than memorize. Well, IF Endgame is funny, maybe old age can be funny to.

Actually, Beckett said himself that he wanted to get as many laughs as possible from this play. I think when people laugh when watching Endgame, it just shows the absurdity of the whole situation the four characters are in, but all their trying to do it continue living for one more day. So when people laugh at this play, its like their laughing at the struggle of life, which is really depressing when you think about it.
