  • how did u keep the poses from jumping around?

  • I animated it in the classic style with an animation peg bar on a light table so all the drawing are registered. Then when scanned in, you attach a pegbar to a secure surface by/on the scanner. They should all line up when you put it together in AfterEffects.

  • did u draw this frame by frame?

  • Yup. You do all the main poses first, then "in-between" them.

  • after you have drawn all the frames, how do you make them all play together to create the actual animation?

  • We used AfterEffects to composite some of the scenes and on some Premiere. You have each drawing as a separate file and you have the software to put it together in where you say how long each image will be on the screen & where.

  • *whistles*

Nice. Any tips for a beginner such as myself? XD

  • Thanks mate. Just keep drawing, watching and reading everything you can about art and animation and it will sink in, I promise you.

  • I'll keep that in mind, thanks

  • wow great job! How long did it take you?

  • Thanks man, it's all from different times over a couple of years. I hardly do any animation any more. Mostly just illustration and video work now.

    Cheers

  • Wow! That looks fantastic! May I ask how you did the slight zoom in/panning's on some shots... they look really really good. Please let me know. Thank you!

  • Thanks man. I did my camera moves and compositing in Aftereffects.

  • amazing job very well done

  • Thanks! I do almost all my work in pre-production nowadays, but I've got another animation job coming up this week. Cheers,

  • Awesome work there Mike!

  • I really wish I could draw. I'd love to make a cell animation film :(

  • Realy nice! Keep it up

  • Nevermind - I read your profile and it seems you're Canadian and already doing just that. Don't give up the fight. Don't go co-pro. Look for investors and keep it YOUR vision! Great work!

  • Hey thanks alot man, I appreciate it. I'm going to keep making art of one form or another for the rest of my life.

    Cheers, Mike

  • Mike, your work is awesome. Please do not work for Disney or anyone else. We need more traditional cel houses in America. Please start your own studio. We need guys like you.

  • I've seen this a couple of times and it keeps getting better. Hope things work out in the animation dept. Keep it up!
