Very daunting. I'm getting a creepy vision of a full moon, exposed behind a shady tree during the winter. A coldnight and unusually foggy, too. A swingset, glittering with frost that is being reflected by the moonlight. The swing sways back and forth along with a screeching noise.

You get a feel of discomfort, an unawareness boggeling in your frightend but anxious mind. You're simply uneased, yet you can't move. Can't seem to shake the fear off, for it has driven you to an unwanted presence.

Just some clarification, since some people seem confused: the little girl's name in the American version of 'The Ring' is Samara; in 'Ringu', the Japanese original, the little girl's name is Sadako, which means 'chaste child'; and, this picture IS of the Tree of the Dead from Tim Burton's 'Sleepy Hollow'. The reason the themes from 'The Ring' and 'Sleepy Hollow' are so easily confused is that they have a lot of similarities in their creepy timbre. I love it.

If you haven't seen The Rings: The Circle of Fear is Growing, I encourage you to see it. It's very, very scary. If you type it in the search bar at the top of the page, it'll come up. I can't imagine what it would be like to have to go through those 7 days, being scared the fuck out of your mind like that.

@john2earth unfortunatly, for me, the 7 day thing didnt apply......i saw part of it and didnt know what was going on, two weeks later i asked my cousin about it, she said "oh that was the ring, your gunna die after 7 days..." i turned my head sideways and said i watched it more than a week ago. she got pissed cuz she couldnt scare me XD

The entire purpose of the tape is to share a piece of her mind with the viewer. The reason why she climbs out of the well after 7 days is to show your mind the entire experience she felt throughout the 7 days it took her to die. She approaches you then looks into your eyes. At that moment, it's all projected into your mind. It's too much for you to handle and you die of being horrified by it all at once. The death is much like a heart attack. That is a very, very scary thought.

The Ring is the scariest movie ever made. I'm one of those people who doesn't scare easy or feel much fear but Samara Morgan scares the shit out of me. The thought of her climbing out of the well and coming to get me; knowing that all of the terrifying experience of taking 7 days to die in that well will be thrown upon me all at once when she looks into my eyes is very scary to me. Feeling that entire seven days of terrifying experience all at once in one second is what kills people.
