I can't speak for theists of all religions around the world, but most atheists are agnostic. While it is possible to disprove many gods and many versions of a god due to claims made by believers it is not possible to disprove untestable claims (such as deism), as such agnosticism is the intellectually honest position whether you are a theist or an atheist. Most people who say they are agnostic are actually atheists who don't really know what the word atheist means.

Am I wrong for thinking this is a better symbol for the faith than the Crucifix? The Crucifix tells us that Jesus died for our sins, but the Buddy Christ reminds us that He didn't stay dead. It says that He is Risen, and He is there for you no matter what happens.

Carlin wasn't religeous, but he had faith (2 seperate idealisms) and yes it's true he was a good Catholic. But msn did he know how make people laugh. BTW George Carlin did not continue his education in Catholicism/Christianity beyond high school --- hardly qualifiying him as an authority on the faith. While his routines were VERY funny, they were completely based on common misconceptions and incorrect instruction on the Catholicism / Christianity. Ye shall know them by their fruits, the Bible says. Poor Brother George's alcoholism and bitterness show he had no faith in how much God loves him - or how many blessings God gave him in his life.

Isn't it ironic, how all the atheists who commented (rather vehemently) on this thread have NO facts correct about Christian theology & Bible (e.g. the fall of Adam & Eve, the Crucifixion, Resurrection & redemption). Yet they argue that it is Christian theology that makes people ignorant and hateful. Sorry folks we all (Christian and atheist alike) have to look in the mirror for that one. Adequate examples of evil atheists, but I wouldn't say that atheism is behind their evil deeds, as the church is known for just as many fuck ups.
My problem with religion is this - I see no reason to be patronized by some "god" and I would never worship a being who would send ANYONE to hell for any reason... Religion condemns questions - it's a terribly flawed philosophy.
