  • @Torque1974, you caught me...But doesn't all 80's songs do this to us?

You know the great 80's when we had still had good music with even better performers.

An era where music was more than swearing, cursing and offence other people.

  • Great tune!

  • omg all this (blahblah) for nothing it's just like poetry that can say something profound with the lightness and this is the mainpoint .... thank you to the music for this ....

  • *i'm happy when i this see

    xD

  • i'm happy when thois see

  • run away if u please

  • これ聞くとロンドンナイト思い出すってかめっちゃ好き♡♡♡

(Posted by Youtube Stream for iPhone (yst.me) on behalf of @Mojiokko at twitter)

  • *Listens to the beat and starts dancing*

"Listens to the lyrics and go ...oh"

  • Jw...This is your average American relationship......=p

  • her best mate on the left played sicknote's wife jean in 'london's burning'

  • Wonderful cover of a Jackie DeShannon original - she wrote it & first recorded it.

  • haha, great to see Ullman like this.

  • It's not about domestic violence- it's about a girl having trouble breaking up with her boyfriend. This is a re-make of a song first recorded in the 1960s by Irma Thomas.

  • @bluesgutter The problem is that if you don't know that it was recorded earlier or that the song writer's intention was something else, the words make it sound like domestic violence. What would you think if a girl said she was stuck on a guy even though he made her cry and she was obsessed to the point that she couldn't find it within herself to find a guy who made her happy instead?

  • i always dance to this :)

  • What's with the link to domestic violence? What utter cobblers!!!!!

What is with the world now where you can't say anything, write anything, or do anything without some lilly livered liberal Guardian reading civil rights obssessive making a story or finding dome seeminlgy subliminal point out of it in some way that no one else has ever pointed out? It's a 60's style r n r pop song about a girl who fancies a bloke who clearly doesnt fancy her as much!!!! Lord give us strength.

  • @felixmyballs I don't know why you have such a vitriolic reply to my comments. You're using a stereotype about people, ya know. What would you think if a girl you knew was stuck on some guy and she couldn't find it within herself to break up with a guy who made her cry and was mean to her or neglected her? If that's not at least a foreshadowing of domestic violence, I don't know what it is now. If you don't know the origin of the song as you mention here, it sounds just like emotional abuse.

  • she's latrine in men in tights movie from mel brooks :D:D

  • EXCELLENT!

  • Perfect pop

  • Fantastic song, I can't break away either.

  • Too sad that there won't be an Amy Winehouse cover of this jewel :-(((

  • 0:02 Geena Davis?

  • Doesn't Happy-Guy-Dancing just make you happy? Bestest song ever. You cannot listen to it without tapping your feet with a big silly smile on your face!

  • @webgizful Lol!! After watching the secret life of bees i wanted to hear the full song :D

  • Hehe good memories from back in the day...

  • briiiiiiliant

  • What a real foot taper.

  • she was so cute back in the days, 0:18 and 2.07 just freakin love her :X

  • mega sounds

  • Lenniesam, I guess I should explain for you. It does sound like domestic violence to me because of the lyrics, "Even though you treat me bad and cruel words are spoken, you've got a spell on me that just can't be broken". To me that's the definition of a woman who is being abused, at the very least verbally, and might very well have a case of Stockholm Syndrome.

  • tracy we love you come back plz make more songs xxx

  • Gorgeous, my childhood sweetheart - so fit!!! :-)

  • Jewish eyes at their best

  • What style of dance is that geeky white guy doing?

  • Major accident does it better

  • She is toooooooooo cuuuuteeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • grande pezzo degli anni 80 che ricorda gli anni 50

  • does anyone know who her backing singers are? the brunettes cute :)

  • They are so cute :D

  • Tracey Ullman was born in Buckinghamshire, England on December 30, 1959

Loved her show that ran from 1987-1990.

I can hear a strong influence of the early 1960's icon Leslie Gore in her music who sang It's My Party circa 1963 & You Don't Own Me circa 1964.

When she was six, Ullman's father died of a heart attack while reading her a bedtime story. Tracey recounts putting on shows in her mother's bedroom, performing alongside her older sister, Patty.

    I have always loved Tracey

  • @USMCLoneWolf1 Yours was an excellent posting. Thank you for the very interesting information (which was also very well told).

Few women in the entertainment business were as charming as Tracey Ullman was back in the day. Again, thanks.

  • I love this song, the ladies are beautiful too, I also like the long tall texans cover too

  • Cute video, and I don't mind her voice. But the song blows.

  • The Simpsons started on her show... 'nuff said.

  • I heard a long time ago that Paul McCartney had a lengthy affair with her.

  • I love this Song. Vivan los 80.

  • I love this song and I was big fan of her's in the 80s

  • this always makes me happy no matter what is going on in my life

  • this is one of my friend's zombie apocalypse theme songs. trufax.

  • muy bonica cancion desde la calle huertas madrid españa youtube...la honorable sociedad

  • then she was a great funny lady .

  • lol then she was a comedian .

  • lol

  • I admit to not reading all the posts to this clip, but I've always loved this song. I wonder if the only reason this song got played was the upbeat tune to it because I don't think people were talking much about domestic violence in the early 1980s. When you listen to it, it's really heart breaking to hear about a woman who can't leave her abusive boyfriend.

  • @Jwb52z thats a bit deep....just a song about a cheating boyfriend,theres nothing about domestic violence.

  • @lenniesam What would you think if you knew a girl who was so stuck on a guy that she couldn't break up with him even though he made her cry and find a boyfriend who would actually make her happy? If that's not at least a foreshadowing of domestic violence, I don't know what it is now. I realize that the original song writer didn't mean that now, however.

  • @Jwb52z and just think about the fact that it was originally recorded in 1964. i would think the discussion was even less then.

  • @Jwb52z I don't hear anywhere of her saying her boyfriend is abusive

  • @DUNKYDOOBS What would you think if a girl you knew was into a guy who made her cry and she was so stuck on him that she didn't have it within herself to break up with him and find a guy who made her happy instead? If that's not at least a foreshadowing of domestic violence, I don't know what it is now.

  • @Jwb52z maybe it is foreshadowing but that doesn't mean it for sure is. you're just a very pessissmistic person who hears about a girl in a bad relationship and automatically assume she's getting beat up

  • @DUNKYDOOBS I am not pessimistic. It's just what the words themselves sound like. Also, domestic abuse doesn't always mean physical abuse purely.

  • @Jwb52z thats exactly what I'm saying. but you used the word domestic abuse which usually means physical.

  • @Jwb52z WHAT????

  • @MrGipwagga I don't know why so many people are so upset at my interpretation of this song. If you don't know it was recorded earlier or if you didn't know the song writer's intention, the words do sound like domestic violence.

  • @Jwb52z Jeez...not as heart breaking as your stupid comment! (Hint - this song is not supposed to be taken seriously)

  • Both cute and good looking plus very funny and great attitude to life--enjoy it!

  • Ez amire már régen vártam!!!!!

  • One of these songs, together with Matt Bianco´s get out your laisy bed, to get people crazy on the dancefloor during the eighties....MORE FANTASTIC ´80´s music at my channel!!!! Take a look....

  • Tracey broke my heart in 17 places. . . . .

  • AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHH! Where is Irma Thomas when I need her? Oh,

that's right she lives 15 minutes away.Great arrangement but the mix is a little "cold" for me. I'm too used to Irma's version. It drips with raw soul and the desperation that can only come from living through what we call "graveyard love". Then again, in 1984, I was probably listening to The Clash, Dead Boys and the Misfits so wtf do I know? I like almost all music. Peace & Love from da Who Dat Nation! Laissez les bon temps roule

  • I used to play this 45 at 33,still sounds good!!

  • The US in '80s was pretty gnarly, wouldn't ya say--the movies, music, and fashion were all wicked. Heck, the whole world in the '80s was kickin'

  • johóóu :)

  • i like The Detroit Cobras version

  • I like the dance at 0:25 hahaha lol xD

  • Love this song

  • I think it's one of the best song I've ever heard, love it!! ♥

  • i love this song!

  • This song makes me wanna dance, not cry.

  • Dutch geezers

  • I love Tracey! Funny, beautiful, clever, witty...an all round talent that has been underestimated for much too long. Let's not forget what she did for Matt Groening and the Simpsons.

  • Great Version,Cool Idea Diff Outfits Etc. For The Diff Periods Of Rock..LOVE The "Ronnettes" Beehives With The Long Hair In The Back,And The Mini Skirts! All Three Look Awesome,But,Does Anyone Know Who The "Blonde" One Is??

  • Buena cancion para ir a currar un Viernes a la mañana.

  • Clearly a song about the tragedy of domestic abuse.

  • @MrPing1000 No! Not necessary! I've never looked at this song in that vain. Just because she sings 'Though you make me cry' may not & probbably doesn't mean abuse, Most of us have been in a relationship where it's not working therefore upsetting & part of you wants to leave but you love the person too much & as the song was written by Jackie DeShannon & Sharon Sheeley & originally recorded by Irma Thomas in 1964 as the B-Side to "Wish Someone Would Care" I doubt it would be as back then.

  • I fucking love that song !

  • I fucking love that song !

  • Wow!............ This brought back some memories.

Tracy goes rockabilly............ and should have stayed that way!!!

  • I remember people wanted to to hear it and dance to it over and over again at the school graduation ball...back then....

  • miss ullman was doing schoolgirl songs and dancing when brit was shitting dypers lol

  • Bring Back The Girl Groups!!!

  • My favorite Tracey Ullmann song. It kicks a lot of ass.

  • ok lets think here, if she's born in 1959 and this is made in the 1960's she's either 9 10 or 11

  • Tracey Ullman looks really hot in that school girl uniform.

  • Written by the genius, Jackie DeShannon.

  • 2-absolut styll 60's - perfekcion.

  • England has not produced a chanteuse, actress or comediane more charming than Tracey Ullman. Her vids, music and comedy are all pure fun.

  • @arkady714

I totally agree with you! Tracey's the best. Her songs and performances still make me happy, and paint a smile on my face...but what's become of her lately, don't seem to hear of her much annymore or am I missing something?

  • @TheOBOM She'd been doing a lot of work in America, mostly on cable television. But I admit that I haven't seen much of her as of late.

  • LOLOLOL....this is great! I feel 9 years old all over again!

  • My goodness, I knew she was great at comedy, but I had know idea that she was such a good singer! Put the two together & you get this really great video. Check out her cover on Doris Day's "Move Over Darling," it is just as good, if not better!

  • Anyone ever think that Tracy Ulman is cute and good looking?...

  • @skrusze99 She is cute i loved her in the 80s but when she moved to America i was gutted, she is so talented and funny. Not like the crap we get today.

  • @skrusze99 I think so lol!!!!!

  • @skrusze99 YES! In just the geeky way I like my girls.

  • @skrusze99 Me do lol. huba huba huba

  • Comment removed

  • @skrusze99

Hmm, gotta say: First no!!!! But then the combination of the song and her "behaviour", then I think she's kinda cute.. :-) And besides she reminds me of Beverley Mitchell :-P

    And I think she's definitively cute :-)

  • @skrusze99 Is that a rhetorical question?

  • @skrusze99 you bet...

  • @skrusze99 The best looking woman of Polish blood ever.

    Still has a dancer's physique.

  • @52barney She's Polish Jewish then, because Tracey is Jewish.

  • @jrmetmoi Jewish is a religion , Polish is ethnicity.........if Tracey is Jewish I doubt she seriously

    practices the religion

  • @52barney Jewish is both an ethnicity and a religion.

  • I love the Ronette beehives and minis. The cool thing about this video is that teenage girls back then really did this stuff.
