I really like how your titles relate to a clue in the riddle of the story or something to do with the killer.

I had chills, the best type of horror is the one we are forced to conjure in our heads to fill the blanks.

The effect would have been multiplied if expressions were done even better and possibly the sound of broken glass as the bird escapes with an ear splitting, horrifying scream a la The Blair Witch Project ending.

With all these shorts, I could see you making a great horror film!

Here's wikipedia's entry about mockingbird "Mockingbirds are a group of New World passerine birds from the Mimidae family. So basically the idea is that some sort of entity entered baby's room, sang a song for it and then killed it.Standard stuff
