the story of Pripyat is the most fascinating true story i have ever heard. can't believe that i have never heard about Pripyat before, it touches my heart. they only talked about the accident in the power plant station, i knew that people had to leave their villages. for 25 years i didn't know that a whole 50.000 people-town was evacuated and is still standing there as a ghost town. it's so hard to realize for me that the town of Pripyat wasn't more of importance for the western media.

Nuclear power is actually very safe and clean(in that even though the waste is very deadly, there is very little of it). Americas worst nuclear accident released practically no radiation and what was released had a half life of only 3 days. Chernobyl is a great example of how a nuclear power plant can be dangerous if you're dumb enough to shut down the cooling system while it's poorly maintained and cannot be turned back on.

I think you have a good debate with nuclear waste. It has to be bured 300m-1000m below the earth's crust, and even then there are concerns of leakage contaminating ground water tables.
