No one owns the word allah. And that also means the muslims. The word was used well before islam by non-muslims and well after islam by non-muslims. No one owns that word. Is Malaysia going to ban the Sikh faith next. In the Sikh holy book Allah is used to refer to God many times. As is Onkar, Ramm, and many other names. So if Malaysia believes allah is only a muslim word they are pretty much banning the Sikh faith.

Ask the Arab Christians if what does Allah mean... They will tell you it is interpreted as God by arab speaking people.

Only stupid Muslims would think that it is Islamic. Even real Arabs now... Muslims or Christians would wonder why this happens in Malaysia just because of the word Allah.
Christians in Lebanon, Syria, Jerusalem and other parts of the middle east called God "Allah" as a general term and Yahweh and Jesus for specific terms. Christians know who their God is, that's why they call Him with a name while Muslims don't and call their God in a general term and that is Allah... and now they want to own it for themselves. Ask the Arab Christians if what does Allah mean... They will tell you it is interpreted as God by arab speaking people.
Now we see what happens when ignorant stupid people react? They spell Chaos and then call Islam a religion of peace. If you act like that, I will bet my life no one will believe that you have a peaceful religion.

In Arabic language, even during pre-Islamic era, the word Allah was used to refer to deities or gods. Besides, if really Allah is reserved for only Islamic use, why make Malysians sing state songs with the word Allah in it when there is no specific state in Malaysia labelled to be Islamic state??? I don't see the basis of argument here.

No one owns the word allah. And that also means the muslims. The word was used well before islam by non-muslims and well after islam by non-muslims. No one owns that word. Is Malaysia going to ban the Sikh faith next. In the Sikh holy book Allah is used to refer to God many times. As is Onkar, Ramm, and many other names. So if Malaysia believes allah is only a muslim word they are pretty much banning the Sikh faith.

I think, the whole controversy is about the use of the word Allah by others in Malaysia; never mind the details. Christians in Lebanon, Syria, Jerusalem and other parts of the Middle East called God "Allah" as a general term and Yahweh and Jesus for specific terms. Ask the Arab Christians if what does Allah mean... They will tell you it is interpreted as God by arab speaking people.

Allah or Illah is an arabic word meaning God. It is a universal word that is being used by arabs may they be Christians or Muslims or even pagans who refer to him as God. It has been there and used by these people even before Islam came to this world.
