I am not much older than yourself..but notice that its hard to identify given my experience...I have an ulcer currently so food these days is very bland...believe me when I say I like the chile....There is no doubting the dumbed down culture aspect but is that culture of body modification!!?? I just don't get it!
I'm not irked in the least, but it just so happens that I recently went to the Mandarin chinese buffet (ever been there?) and yeah, that place embodies bland food. I don't know WHY flavour is so scarce, but I theorize why it is in a new vid I made. Check my channel if you want to hear my thoughts.

I don't think he was making a metaphor for human emotion, I think he was just pissed off this his food is mild.

If you watch the last part of the video he compares the blanding of food to the blanding of our culture.
