  • a lot of dead indians

  • Ohh Shyt Todavia Me Acuerdo Cuando Fui, Haha Had A Nightmare That Night!!

  • I think some of these people had been buried alive. I think that's why their mouths are wide open. Like they were screaming and struggling to breathe. What a nightmare!

  • @72DBRONCO yes, there is a story of a woman named ignacia aguila which was buried alive. They find her upside down biting her arm with blood in it.

  • 0:24 I see plastic...

  • this is scary o.O

  • They have now found mummies in the black sea area and I think they must have done ritual killings and then mummified them as they were preserved in some kind of peat moss sediment or something and they had hair and the baby had been crying you could tell...these people were horrified there for likely murdered also...

  • as it is called this music

  • why is that baby wearing modern clothing?

  • @LilAndiiCee I noticed that to.

  • One of the mummies who was buried alive was Ignacia Aguilar. She suffered from a strange sickness that made her heart appear to stop for one day on several occasions. During one of these incidents, her heart appeared to stop for more than the usual time. Thinking she had died, her relatives decided to bury her. When her body was disinterred, it was noticed that she was facing down, biting her arm, and that there was a lot of blood in her mouth.

  • the last one seems to be singing jajaja saludos from mexico!!!

  • No offense, but with all the drug-related killings going on, you wouldn't have to go to a museum to see dead people in Mexico.

  • @knyeland hi!!, well depends of the place, i live in mexico and im happy here!!! like in most parts of the world there are dangerous places ..

  • scary :(

  • Been there. It freaked me out

  • @ThatForbiddenLuv Oh my goodness it would scare the crap outta me if I went there! Those mummies are in glass cases and aren't just laying in an open coffin, right??? LOL! Very creepy, I'd die if I went there and then they'd mummify me and put ME on display!!! XD

  • @JohnnyBear3 They are now in glass cases lol but my mom said that some time ago, they didn't have them in cases, you could actually touch them :O Freaky.

  • @ThatForbiddenLuv WOW that is freaky!!! Who would want to touch them?? EWW!!! LOL!

  • QUE TAL AMIGOS YA ESTA EL CORRIDO MAS NUEVO DE GUANAJUATO CON LOS DESTACADOS DEL NORTE - EL 480 LOS INVITAMOS QUE LO ESCUCHEN

EN MYSPACE Y EN YOUTUBE ANIMO Y PURO PINCHE GUANAJUATO

  • Ah Messiaen. Such a good choice in music for such horrors!

  • i loved my GTO..

  • scarry..........

  • Sehr interessant und zugleich beängstigend!

  • why do they all have their mouths open ?

  • @Deadgehog Dying of any complaint can cause the mouth to open, it's quite natural and doesn't always signify anything significant.

  • @Deadgehog because the lower jaw has a very loose joint and the ligaments and muscles that keep the bone in place have decomposed so the mouth opens. In victorian times, before they found a better way of stopping it, they used cloth to tie the mouth shut during a funeral (such as the cloth tied onto Marley's head in A Christmas Carol), the reason why some are open and some arn't is because some are natural and some are bound, I hope this helps.

  • what is that song called?

  • @IsTheAlex O sacrum convivium! By Oliver Messiaen. My favorite composer. Deeply moving and always full of wonder!

  • Wow! most likely most of them were buried alive!!!

  • you could pick up death germs or virus in the air...don't go there at all

  • @MermaidMystery

"Death Germs" seriously? What is the scientific name Mortus germus? When you do find a death germ, please show it to me, I'll be the first person in line to see that.

Trust me the microbes that the living carry are far worst than the ones that the dead mummies carry. Besides, just like the cells of the humans that where mummified with all the mineral and chemicals or the area, the microbes also fell victim to this process.

Maybe a fungus, but its very unlikely.

  • My dad's from Cortazar Guanajuato

and well since we go every year over there

we went to go check out the museums

and i saw every single one of those mummys over there... =]

  • Looks like they all died in a dentist's chair.

  • @eruditeone hahahaha.....i agree wid u...lolzzz....:p

  • i saw them about ten years ago at gunajuato beautiful place, pipila, callejon del beso

  • eww i seen those same ones in person and i have pictures.

    there hella creepy

  • it is spooky and scary with there mouth open

  • Kinda spooky to think one day we all end up looking like these corpses when we're dead :( ....

  • @Jeffrizel1986 Actually you usually don't. Mummies are special in that they do not decompose as a cadaver usually does. You need to be "lucky" (or unlucky, depending on how you define post-mortal dignity) to actually become a mummy.

  • 1.13 looks like me when im up in the morning for college

  • Interesting stuff. The temporo-mandibular joint held closed by the masseter muscles, usually means a clenched jaw at time of death. Especially as rigor mortis sets in. However, after rigor mortis gives up its grip and more especially as the masster muscle begins to decompose, the jaw drops in a grinning gape.

The physiology of how corpses react in decomposition is a fascinating study. Obviously ,here in these very cold conditions, decomposition and decay havent really set in,just dessication

  • those are saints :))

  • what's there story ??

  • @amshg21 I read somewhere (I think Wikipedia it was, or a direct link from there) that all these mummies are victims of a 1850 cholera epidemic.

  • been there kinda wired in there

  • A lot of times back in those days, if someone was unconscious or in some sort of comatose state. The doctors would already declare them dead and bury them alive.. A lot of these people would wake up in their grave screaming until they died eventually.. which is why a lot of these mummies mouths are open..

  • I think this is due to the fact of the position of the head when they are buried, like when you are sleeping and you get your mouth open. And yes maybe others were buried alive, but i think most of them is because of the position and the way the mouth gets open by itself when the head is in certain position, mostly when the head is, how can i say?... hmm...not so sure how to say it but it's like... back.

  • OMG I'm so spooked out by corpses!!! I

  • i been there

    gave me the creeps hahaha

  • they look scary.

  • omg they look like they're screaming...i won't sleep tonight!

  • You misspelled can. lol

  • Holay Shiet!!! xD the child looks hella scary!

  • I went there!! I lOVE it i wanna go back to guanajuato my parents state wehre they were born..

  • i went there two years ago and once you go in there u feel weird and u get very cold!!! u should visit :)

  • The baby was in blue, not dirt stained, modern looking clothing, that`s kinda weird...

  • They are not screaming. The Jaw just opens when its relaxed. Happens to many people when they sleep..

  • some of them were buried alive

  • i wonder why they were all screaming??!?! i wonder how they all died.. i wish more history was provided

  • @oakdale19 They died in a cholera epidemic, with the years usually given between 1833 and 1910. One of the mummies was probably buried alive (Ignacia Aguilar) - she was said to have a rare heart condition and was miskept for dead. Her body was turned in the coffin, she had fingernail scratches over her forehead and bit her arm. All the others most probably died of the cholera epidemic, and the facial expressions are only due to initial decomposition before the natural mummification set in.

  • @itekisan Thank you for the information, I was unaware of how they died (though I did know about the facial exressions)

  • Alguien sabe la historia tras estas momias?

Por que la expresión de dolor/horror en casi todas?

Does any one knows the story?

Why the pain /horror expresion in most of them?

  • algunas fueron enterradas vivas pero a la mayoria se les cuelga la mandibula porque ya no la sostienen y si te das cuenta algunas personas cuando duermen se les habre la boca es casi lo mismo

  • omg i got the chills wen i saw that, farr mummies can be pretty scary. i feel sorry for those who got mummiefied or howeva u spell it, cas they rip your brain out of your nose! bit by bit, and remove all of your organs! and also that was som scay shit!

  • brain and organ removal in mummification procedure is true for Egyptian mummies...

  • guanajuato mummies are natural unlike the egiptian ones

  • hell yea we call areselvez mummiz ..lol...pUr0 pAnZa v3Rde shingao

  • i went there last year. i have a video of it to but they mutteted because it was coppirighted

  • this is some freak shit!!!!!!

  • ese es mi guanajuato y sus momias.. vayan a visitarlo y tendran una muy interesante y inolvidabblee experienciaa...

  • that was fucking scary

  • hmmm they all look so happy lol.

  • when i was there, there were loads of kids there like 6 and 7 years old im surprised they didnt run away screaming lol

  • if they were raised in the state then its no surprise they didnt run away. guanajuatans call themselves mummies.

  • actually some were buried alive by accident, that is why some of their mouths are open

  • Hmm almost all of them had their mouths open.

  • i read that the mortician would dig up the bodies when the family stopped paying for grave. He would then put the bodies in caves. he didn't realize the area is rich with certain minerals which preserved the bodies. they do look creepy.

  • @fantasticH5 0:54 you see thats a pregnent woman with her baby

  • 0:38 O my sweet lord in Heaven....HE HAS FINGERNAILS STILL!O mi gah!lol

  • man you ca´t touch the mommies he have a cristal and the musueum has remodel

  • FUCK YEAH THAT STATE IS WHERE I LIVE ON

  • they all have their mouthes open. why is that?

  • rigor mortis

  • they try to get air while dying

  • thank you almolama

  • i wish i could own one of theas mummies

  • Great video. You wonder about their lives, what it consisted of, knowing that someday in the far future, we may be found like this. Scary. But true.

  • whats wrong with these people? r they died on brutal? anybody can tell me

  • 0:25 --> LOL propably died by bursting from food

  • thats a baby not a fat man...

  • they all look like they were killed...alive

all have thier mouths open like they were screaming or something...WICKED CREEPYY!!

  • that last one looked extremely creepy

  • Very interesting and extremely moving..especially when the small baby was shown..so sad..I mean, I know that people die, but these people seemed to die a most horrific and painful death. One can only imagine (based on their facial expressions, and the way their hands are) what they went through before they died.

  • Why are most of their mouth open?

  • what do you expect? their mouths to be closed after death? there's a scientific effect on dead bodies called rigormortis

  • Wow. Very interesting. I love stuff like this. The music collaborated well with it. Nice Job!!!

  • i been to that place with the mummies, they have them in glass display,i was like five when i went kinda freaky

  • no en todos los lugares la jente se momifica en gto mexico la tierra tiene muchos minerales que hace que la jente se momifique

  • its wierd tho cuz when people die there mouth closes cuz all of there muscles shut down and these well have there mouths open

  • Actually, when a dead body decomposes the tongue swells and forces the jaws open. Quite a few mummies throughout history have been found with their jaws bound shut with strips of cloth tied to their heads to prevent the mouth from hanging open post mortem.

  • And all skeletons seems "laughing" when they are found - because of this too...

  • maybe thats why Ichabod Crane (sp?) always had his head bandaged

  • grosss!

  • This is why I am going to be cremated. I don't want some one putting me on display 200 years after I'm dead.

  • me too...just thinks of it in 2000 years ppl will be looking at your decomposed penis and balls, and tits and gross body features that resemble the consistency of toilet paper...

  • @TudorRose85 Personaly I don't care what people do to my body... As long as i'm dead.

  • omg !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • is this music Faure? what is it?
