@Teamwujin I'm a Krav Maga instructor and I agree with you to some degree. Most of the knife defense is poorly taught. But if a guy knows how to use a knive (Kali or Silat) you have no chance. I agree with you, put distance and run is the best option. I think the most important part of your video that most people did not see is "distract", punch or spit or whatever. That why you can follow up efficiently because the attacker is... well.. distracted. Thanks for the videos. cool stuff.
if you are not a master in some martial art, especially if the attacker has some weapon don't risk your life for 200 bucks (higher amount of money don't recommend you to have when you are alone), let him take what he wants.

well i always carry a pocket knife with me when im walking down the street, dont worry im not a trouble maker i dont mug people or fight them for no reason, its only for self protection and i hope i never have to use it but its there if i need it. if someone was acting suspicious at the atm behind me then i would stop what im doing pull out the knife and tell them to fuck off before they get cut up. there are plenty of atm's around they can go use another one. better safe than sorry.

Just be aware of what's around you,and be ready to act if you need to.

@YesWeCantaloupe Also, you need to consider the danger level of different weapons, a gun, though can be fatally dangerous and much quicker to kill, can only kill a person in one way (a little bullet out the barrel) and they're very noticeable, whereas a knife/blade can be fabricated from many different items, can be hidden anywhere and can kill a person in many, many ways. Screw the guns, lucky in Australia we barely ever see them but knives are everywhere.

This is good :) at first I was a little shocked at the whole aggresiveness of the practice, but then the attacker is probably going to be as or even more aggressive.
good stuff, kick in the balls really goes a long way, plus the hammer fist to the knife hand is what i would do too, plus i like the no bullshit attitude.
What works best as far as I learned (for years Aikido, in two different styles) is twisting the hand/arm to get rid of the knife, it takes more skill but less strength and you simply break thebones, so it isn't very likely that the attacker comes back, and if it's so you know where to punch ;P

@SubliminalSin I agree with what you are saying (your points) but I have A LOT of Krav Maga & Kapap Instructors coming to my seminars to lear knife disarms. Even they say their grabbing the blade ones are just stupid. But we go through all the scenarios and situations and simulation. the fact is, MA and Tactical Training are two different things. @satananass Well I am learning Aikido too (Yoshinkan). But I wouldnt say which martial art, nor which technque is the BEST. Situation changes a lot. You never know what you have learned would work at that moment! There's no harm to learn more techniques. And I think this video is very cool, very effecetive in a suddent moment and in a little space.
kids should learn martial arts in p.e, mainly the diciplin and self defence, obviously i dont want kids going around kicking people in the head but its much more helpful then the shit i was doing for p.e a few years ago
American society is victim oriented, police would rather protect a victim then someone who has made the criminal pay at the crime scene with their life or with a grievous injury. I do not hope this happens to me or anyone I care about, to be honest if it happened to me it wouldn't be so great for the criminal(s). Plus sometimes it's best to leave if a CCTV is not at the crime scene if you can, some police will turn on you if you choose not to become a victim of a criminal.
Stuff like this just reminds me why I always carry a knife with me. Never leave my house unarmed. Sure I've been doing martial arts since I was 7 so I've got a little over a decade of training, but fuckin' hell I'm not lettin' some punk cut me. So I've got my knife as added insurance.

@YesWeCantaloupe Also, you need to consider the danger level of different weapons, a gun, though can be fatally dangerous and much quicker to kill, can only kill a person in one way (a little bullet out the barrel) and they're very noticeable, whereas a knife/blade can be fabricated from many different items, can be hidden anywhere and can kill a person in many, many ways. Screw the guns, lucky in Australia we barely ever see them but knives are everywhere.

Regardless of whatever the law is or is not, not everyone has a fucking gun all the time. Even the nuttiest gun-nuts I know don't have their fucking gun with them ALL the time. At the very least, the one time you forget your fucking gun could be the one time something like this happens. Fucking guns are fucking good & everything, but it's not a bad idea to have a fucking backup plan.

What works best as far as I learned (for years Aikido, in two different styles) is twisting the hand/arm to get rid of the knife, it takes more skill but less strength and you simply break thebones, so it isn't very likely that the attacker comes back, and if it's so you know where to punch ;P

Please do not promote your tripe for the world to see, and try to take up a martial art that covers real life situations, eg. Krav or KAPAP

Even they say their grabbing the blade ones are just stupid. But we go through all the scenarios and situations and simulation. the fact is, MA and Tactical Training are two different things. @satananass Well I am learning Aikido too (Yoshinkan). But I wouldnt say which martial art, nor which technque is the BEST. Situation changes a lot. You never know what you have learned would work at that moment! There's no harm to learn more techniques. And I think this video is very cool, very effecetive in a suddent moment and in a little space.

kids should learn martial arts in p.e, mainly the diciplin and self defence, obviously i dont want kids going around kicking people in the head but its much more helpful then the shit i was doing for p.e a few years ago

American society is victim oriented, police would rather protect a victim then someone who has made the criminal pay at the crime scene with their life or with a grievous injury. I do not hope this happens to me or anyone I care about, to be honest if it happened to me it wouldn't be so great for the criminal(s). Plus sometimes it's best to leave if a CCTV is not at the crime scene if you can, some police will turn on you if you choose not to become a victim of a criminal.

Stuff like this just reminds me why I always carry a knife with me. Never leave my house unarmed. Sure I've been doing martial arts since I was 7 so I've got a little over a decade of training, but fuckin' hell I'm not lettin' some punk cut me. So I've got my knife as added insurance.
