Awesome display of Paul's songwriting skills. The man really knows how to craft a gem. The video captures the mood of the song very well, especially loved the footage of Paul and Linda near the end.
Beautiful video...you chose just the right pictures to go with the words so that an emotional response is evoked. Though technically a "work song," I believe Paul is truly speaking from the heart in this song, reflecting on his own life and the image he portrays to the general public. "Every day I spent trying to prove I could make it alone..." Those words come from the heart.
This just goes to prove that art is at its best when someone feels emotionally compelled to create it. This is the first song I believe Paul has genuinely "felt" in a long time, and it's of no surprise to me that it's the only worthwhile thing he's done since the 1980's.
If you're old enough you'll remember what an experience it was to listen to a Beatles album and just be amazed and thrilled at every nuance of their music. It was always brand new, never before created or heard. Absolutely original. That is going to take alot of decades to beat I think.
I like it that the video shows appropriate people/events regarding his life. Heather shows up when he "comes close to the edge of disaster".. That woman was/is evil. Linda was the real deal. Heartfelt song from the maestro of well written melodious tune.

I've heard a few people complain that it's not as good as some other songs that they've known for 40 years. I can remember not liking every Beatle song right away. Some times they have to creep up on you. This one certainly did! I just feel blessed to be alive at a time when music from the last 1000 years is out there to enjoy. Daddio Clarke and the Macon Wailers affect me like this too.

Thematically and lyrically, this is like a bookend to Paul's early Beatles song " I'll Follow The Sun." After years of being footloose and and indulging wanderlust, the person in the song wants to return "home." Beautiful tune.
Maybe paul didn't won the prize but he has won many other things. He has defeat hell. His mother died when he was 14, his first (?) wife died in cancer and his best friend was killed. But still, after all this tragedis, he's not a bad man. He is still the same man, the same genious.. For me, that's bigger than some riddiculous prize. Paul is the best musician of all times. Amazing song and so timely for me. My husband died from cancer 3 and a half years ago and just the last few days I have been hit so hard with the feeling of wanting to come in from the cold and start living again....uncanny that I saw this posted at exactly the right time....Thanks Paul, it is beautiful...

I've heard a few people complain that it's not as good as some other songs that they've known for 40 years. I can remember not liking every Beatle song right away. Some times they have to creep up on you. This one certainly did! I just feel blessed to be alive at a time when music from the last 1000 years is out there to enjoy. Daddio Clarke and the Macon Wailers affect me like this too.

Love this video!! And have to say..knowing there's a God is not the same as knowing Jesus!! And the "come home" in this song is not the "come home" Christians know of........at all!! I was surprised to see a pic of he and Heather Mills. and Paul kissing. She was history by the time this was done and he'd already said their marriage was a "mistake", Mercy!

It is not a logical argument rykowolf. Sounds like complaining that Mozart used to compose in the style of...Mozart. The main core of Beatles songs has been done by McCartney. It is him you find in "Let It Be" or "I Want To Come Home". Evident like night and day.

I didn't know this one. I always loved the way how Paul was & is able to "tell" about feelings without being pushy or persistent on peoples minds. And even if you don't keep going to listen to them every time... you realize that he already "got" you at your very first listening to him...even if you don't knew then.

Thematically and lyrically, this is like a bookend to Paul's early Beatles song " I'll Follow The Sun." After years of being footloose and and indulging wanderlust, the person in the song wants to return "home." Beautiful tune.

Maybe paul didn't won the prize but he has won many other things. He has defeat hell. His mother died when he was 14, his first (?) wife died in cancer and his best friend was killed. But still, after all this tragedis, he's not a bad man. He is still the same man, the same genious.. For me, that's bigger than some riddiculous prize. Paul is the best musician of all times. That's also bigger than that prize..
