I will explain my opinion again. I don't deny my Christian past. We Laz are copletey Muslims only for 300 years. Befor that we were Greek Orthodox Christians more than 1500 years. My people was one of the first Christian nations on earth. And I'm proud. I also accept that Laz, Megrelians, Svan and Georgians have one and the same origin.
But now our culture is different from any culture. This doesn't mean that we have lost something. Quite the contrary. We have developed in high isolation, unlike any other. Our music and our dances are very different from Adjara (Georgian), Trabzon (Greek), Erzurum (Turkish), or whatever. You just have to comare the music of these Regions with Laz music. But now I see that other people meddle in our affairs. And I DON'T LIKE IT.

These are the nativ instruments that used in Laz folklore: 1. Tulum/Guda (bagpipes), 2. Kemence/Cilili (fiddle), 3. Kaval/Pilili (flute). That's it, nothing more. No Zurna (used by Turks and Geaorgians), no Duduki (used by Turks and Geaorgians), no Daira (used by Turks and Geaorgians), no Buki (used by Turks and Geaorgians).

I will explain my opinion again. I don't deny my Christian past. We Laz are copletey Muslims only for 300 years. Befor that we were Greek Orthodox Christians more than 1500 years. My people was one of the first Christian nations on earth. And I'm proud. I also accept that Laz, Megrelians, Svan and Georgians have one and the same origin.

Our music and our dances are very different from Adjara (Georgian), Trabzon (Greek), Erzurum (Turkish), or whatever. You just have to comare the music of these Regions with Laz music.
