  • You know, when I first came across this video, I thought"oh great, another clipshow set to a crappy music tune", but you know what, you actually pulled this one off well. Kudos.

  • I sure wish I'd downloaded the original of this or that her account was still active. I don't even remember what her name was. It sure was good. I'm glad you tried to recreate it and add your own flavour to it. From what I can remember, it's close. I'd love to be able to compare the to but such is life. I must have watched her original like twenty times. But good work, chasinwind. Very well done.

  • @skonenblades Her name was DragonEarth. The two big differences: I emphasized the story of the episode and hers was more artistic. She ended it with a shootout where the deflector was used to blast the cube and then cube blew up. So halfway in I go in a totally different direction. Hers was music with no audio from the show. I debated on where to have the final climax of the song be. She had it with Picard raising his cup, I chose to put it on the Picard starting at his arm implant.

  • @chasinwind right on. Thanks for breaking down the changes. I tried to track down a few DragonEarths kicking around the internets but so far no luck. I think the biggest thing I enjoyed about hers, now that you mention it, was having no audio from the show. Just a style call that I liked but no slight intended towards your work. I'm glad you did this. Thanks for the reply.

  • Has anyone noticed that pat stewart does his best work when he's alone in a scene, like when there's no one else to interact with. That last bit with riker gone, picard about to drink his earl grey, and stops in mid-stride with that haunted look on his face, then looks out the window. That scene, ladies and gents, is why stage actors trump film actors anyday of the week. The same thing applies to DS9 in "In the pale moonlight", that whole EP was one long monologue.

  • well made video.good job!

  • Krwlng is the best song <3

  • I like this vid, but the one you based it on is better from what I remember. Of course we can't compare the two anymore since the old one is gone... Still good song and cool vid.

  • Brilliant. I hesitate to even make athe suggestion, but if Riker's last line from the cliffhanger ("Mr. Worf... fire") could be worked in, I think it fits very well with the tone of the video.

  • @fauxpasiii That's a good idea. Someday if they have an HD release of TNG and DS9 I'll remake this and include it. I also want to end this somehow with an aduio clip from the conversation between Picard and Guinan which will be a way more powerful ending.

  • You know the one thing i loved about Best of both worlds is that they didnt show you the wolf 359 battle so no micheal bay style bangs and booms left it up to your imagination and was much more powerful when they came across the fleet graveyard... shame you dont get this kind of thing these days.

  • i remember crying as a kid when this happened to Picard. and then years later watching x-men three somehow brought back that same emotion... T.T excellent job on the video btw.

  • Words alone just doesn’t do justice to the epicness of this vid… “crawling in my skin” and “these wounds don’t seem to heal” are really powerful parallels to what the borg is. The borg do crawl in your skin, and once you’ve been assimilated, you are never quite free of the collective, there’ll always be an echo, a remnant of the hive mind in you.

  • Oh...My...God...

  • so gooooood!

  • oh my goodness. that was really powerful. i was like almost crying in it! you did an EXCELLENT job.

  • very well done, truely remarkable!

  • It was a great idea to include the footage of Sisko from the first episode of DS9.

  • Excellent editing - this is amazing stuff.

  • Fabulous work. In the same way that the script of these episodes exemplifies everything that the Star Trek franchise was meant to represent, so does your editing and choice of soundtrack.

  • Amazing. If you made this, you did incredible work and whether you did or not I'd like to thank you for it. Truly enjoyed this.

  • @ZealoustranceTube Thanks for the comment. Yes I did create this video myself, although I admit the basic idea of putting this song to this story came from another user whose account was later closed. I missed watching hers so I made my own version of it and I like to think its a more polished take on the concept.

  • @chasinwind Well even better then. I've got this on my favorites, my computer and my iPod now. Thank you for this. (Can you tell I am a bit of a Trekkie? =D)

  • Wow! That was amazing! You have a gift of perfect balance of drama and action!
