I have Aspergers and I can explain this: ADHD is usually associated with it (I got formally diagnosed with both) which explains the amount of energy he's displaying. Also, I have a lot of trouble trying to make facial expressions which usually results in me giving too much effort and making me look like a jackass when I'm trying to emote. I also have to pay a lot of attention to my expressions to try and look normal so multitasking results in me making goofy faces when trying to emote. :(
