@krystlerita I'm completely straight, and the idea of sex with another man repulses me. BUT I would definitely suck Sean Connery's cock, no question about it!
@tcvicesquad thats disgusting i a man and sucking any ones cock is unthinkable i see sean connery and i want to be like him not ugh have sex with him thats rank!
Seriously, I still can't believe that people are siding with James Bond in this. All Largo wanted to do was to detonate a nuclear weapon in Miami and turn its population (and the snowbirds) into horrible radioactive monsters! How can anyone fault him for that, I've tried to do much the same. And if it wasn't for him, their boat would have run aground on that bluescreen! No one respects villains these days. Saddy-face!
so wait, he dies by a small spear in his back? if u think about it, that's not even enough to kill Stamper, or Jaws, or Oddjob. mind Largo's not even that strong so there u go. lol
@MattPicton96 In the book Bond and Largo have a fight underwater and Domino swims down and kills him there. I think it was a larger spear. Still i dont think McClory shold've stolen all the rights. He practically sent Fleming to his grave with the lawsuits! I am so glad he wasn't given a chance to make more versions of Thunderball after Never Say NEver Again.
I love Thunderball and I love this fight, including the end where Domino spears Largo (shades of Tatiana shooting Klebb).
The only problem I have is the bad jump cut between Largo's first and second punches (when the other SPECTRE guy is holding Bond). It seems like they could have cut to an exterior shot of the yacht careening out of control between the punches to cover the jump.
The thing that gets me is Connery and Celi are both wearing wetsuits. They both should have been absolutely drenched in sweat by the time the fight is over.
Also keeping in mind that both Bond and Largo have just climbed out of the water, so they both should be dripping wet anyway, yet they looked like they both toweled off and then changed into wetsuits that haven't been in the water.
The girl also saved Bond in From Russia with love. Remember when Rosa Klebb was about to kill Bond with her venomous shoes, and Tatiana saves the day and shoots Rosa Klebb.
Hang on I missed something and I need clarification. When the fight begins it's Bond vs 4 guys: Largo, 2 crewmen and the ship's captain (the guy in white). At the end Largo gets shot with a harpoon, one of the crewman falls out of the ship and the last guy gets knocked out with a thrown chair. What happened to the captain?
Jill Masterson in Goldfinger (1964), the Bond film before this one. The villain covers her entire body in gold paint and she dies of skin suffocation (this death has been debunked as myths and stuff for years...) anyway just search the death on Youtube
Yes and no. The explanation that's given is what's been debunked. In fact, what would have killed her is that as paint dries, it shrinks. Hence the paint would have constricted her body, preventing her from being able to breathe. The paint would have literally squeezed her to death.
If you've got paint covering your entire abdomen like was done in Goldfinger, and if it's applied thick enough, it can most definitely constrict your chest and prevent you from breathing.
What they actually used on actress Shirley Eaton wasn't paint. It was a heavy skin lotion with faux-gold powder mixed into it. In some of the publicity photos, you can see the gold stuff getting all over everything her body touched, because it didn't dry.
BTW, when she was "gilded" and filmed lying face-down on the bed, she was nude except for a g-string and two paper cones over her boobs.
'Thunderball' is one of my favorite Bonds, despite the over-emphasis on gadgets and the slow underwater stuff.
It also has some of the best looking women of the franchise; Domino, Fiona, Paula (also in FRWL), Pat Fearing, and the French agent in the pre-credits sequence.
I agree about the women in Thunderball, I've always thought they were the best looking in the franchise.......especially Fiona, my favourite women in the series.....
I love this film so much, it was the first bond film i ever saw back in 2001, i remember laughing at the fight because it's so ermmm cheese :) lol, haha It's cool though
The real hydrofoil boat used in the movie, the "Flying Fish," was a Supramar PT-20 with a cruising speed of 35 knots (about 40 mph). Top speed was probably a few knots higher. The camera was undercranked to make the boat appear to be going faster that it actually was.
i started to like bond at around 5 or 6, i never liked the scare crow that had it's head in the bush on live and let die though lol, i always hid behind the sofa when the live and let die song came on and the girl getting shot lol
I don't think it's possible for a woman to look better than Claudine Auger did in this movie. She was a goddess.

@Kohntarkosz Paint can do that? Must be some pretty tough paint!
Of course, there's no such thing as "skin suffocation." Skin doesn't breathe. That's what you have lungs for.
