  • Classic games always blew my balls off and makes me want to play them. Call of Doilies is for the turds

  • i miss this game

  • よく聴くと、FM音源2+PCM1なのか?

  • Oh, the good ol' days. I wish I were a kid again =(

  • SEGA was once in the 1980 and 90's the absolute masters of racing games and it's music, no other video game company was even near the quality of Outrun in 1986 until Chase HQ by Taito was released in 1988.

  • Is that FM synth music? If yes, then it's the most well performed FM music i've heard so far!

  • @1xWertzui The drums are samples

  • Massive smile on this face right now. I'm having this on next time I'm going driving.

  • I want to work on a concept album and take all the iconic 8-Bit arcade themes and make them over into symphonic pieces. I'm talking mad strings, spiccato, bartok, the works. Sounds strange, some might see it as destroying the music, but I can already hear it in my head. I think it depends on your taste, and if you have the same taste as I do, you'll probably love it.

  • I make arcade style music. Everyone should check it out.

  • 80.3 つ○

  • I listen to this song when i go walking on the beach

  • Bayonetta Splash Wave Remix

    BEST MIX EVA!!!!!!

  • @YoshiLover17

    LIES!

  • @feckingtediousgoogl

it so is is there any other mix

  • ORIGINALS & CLASSICS NEVER ARE FASHION OUT

  • Wanting to listen to more of this song is what made me a great outrun player. I recently played it at Chuck E. Cheese and beat it on one token, and of course Splash Wave was my driving force!

  • fantastic music, fantastic game and fantastic childhood

I loved this game on my dear old md , I got the Japanese cartridge! :)

  • Anyone who picks Magical Sound Shower or Passing Breeze over this should be forcibly removed from the arcade.

  • Comment removed

  • Se ponen los pelos de punta al escucharla.....que recuerdos!

  • i can just walk out to my garage and hop on my own Outrun Deluxe arcade cab and play, whenever i want.

    feels great.

  • @Borin81 JEALOUS FOREVER

  • You Guys Have no Idea How Trilled I Was when i Heard this Theme on Bayonetta's Soundtrack It was Mind Blowing!!, Good Good Times!.

  • such a memorable piece of music!! i love that run up of notes at 0:23 and the melody afterwards is sweet..fits the game perfect in an 80s as you can get sort of way..the drum fills around the 4:00 mark are ace too- or as we used to say in our stonwashed drainpipe jeans and humongous basketball boots."that's effin SKILL that!"..brings it all back!

  • I must say, if I could ever afford a Ferrari, I would definitely choose a Testarossa and blast this music in it.

  • @GamerBoy53 same here.

  • @TheSophera Do not type a wink!

  • My favouritie track. Love the drum solo bit.. Much better than the Mega Drrive port.

  • @tolani05 The MD version is pretty pants, admittedly.

  • C:\My documents\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\User Music

  • I remember when i played it on my fathers' Atari, when i was a kid. Now, i'm playing the 2005 Version on PS3..it's very nostalgic

  • oh man I was in my driver's education class today and they showed our class a video about safe driving and it had this BGM in it!! XD

it was using a kid playing OutRun and the theme of the vid was driving in a video game is nothing like driving IRL... lol

  • @FireKirby7 i learned to drive because of video games. i just had 2 control my speed limit thas all lol

  • Ever hear the song called "Something" by Lasgo? That reminds me of Splash Wave! I think the opening notes were interpolated in that song.

  • No kids today appreciate arcade games, but how could they? The arcades have been brought to the homes in todays home consoles. The closest mall from me used to have a big room of arcade games, now just a little mini-room. My goal at some point is to aquire a few of these classic arcade games as I will never have another chance to play them out in public again. Then my future kids can see what games I popped so many quarters into when I was younger lol.

  • @mrcheeta28 *cough*

  • dude whenever i go to sega republic ( i live in uae) this comes to ma mind i dunno why

  • @GodzillaXAbudAwwal Maybe because you have the biggest outrun 2 machine I've ever seen in my life?

  • @Nightrider153 i dont get it. was that a joke? lol

  • sooooooooooooo 80s

  • I can't help but feel that this sounds like an alternate theme to Space Harrier. Speaking of which, they should have put Out-Run as an unlockable in Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. Heck, they should have just nixed Fatal Labyrinth and Golden Axe Warrior for that alone.

  • @RocMegamanX You are so right it is scary.

  • i used to play this game. I think that I was 6 years old. I wish I could play it again

  • This game reminds me of Summer holidays as a kid in Cromer in Norfolk, in the arcades. Happy days.

  • Ese juego hasta en blanco y negro jugado en el Spectrum era alucinante. LA banda sonora... de lo mejor que hay también. Cuando sacaron la edición remasterizada para Play 3 no lo dudé ni un instante

    : )

  • HrMA61WOlGk

  • I remember sitting in this giant plastic-car of a arcade machine and play OutRun. Awesome game.

  • love this game and song!....I was actually playing it on our Sega Master System today

  • A handful awesome, solid tracks >>>>>>>>> tons of mediocre tracks.

  • this is the music of my childhood

  • The sound track for Out Run is video game music's Thriller album, every song is a hit, and they are very popular. Thanks Renegade!!!

  • FA-BU-LO-US!

Yo también tenía la cassette que acompañaba al Out Run. Y la música me flipaba cosa fina.

    Thanks for up, man!

  • This is my favorite outrun song (original version).

The new songs on 2006 fail tho especially the ones with lyrics it ruined the classicalness of the game.

    GO SEGA

  • Classic :)

  • que tema... que años.... que recuerdos !!!!

  • I love how Bayonetta paid tribute to this game by remixing this theme

  • I think it was Magical Sound Shower, not sure though.

  • Now I have to hear that

  • I still have this on my Sega Megadrive/Genesis!

  • I'm 7 years old, I'm playing in the arcade at the local leisure centre and I wished I could play the game instead of going swimming :)

To my left is Pacworld, behind me is Super Off Road and After Burner and Operation Wolf and Chase HQ.

Best days of my life :)

  • @Jamerio3D: Thanks both to you and Renegade for taking me back there again too ;o)

  • Haha i know just what you mean, Outrun in the middle, Double Dragon to the right, with Dragon Ninja next to that, On my left was WWF Wrestlefest and Ninja turtles I believe :P

    thank god for emulation :D

  • @Jamerio3D

    I hear you. (Nods.)

  • @Jamerio3D you read my book.!@

  • @Jamerio3D

    YOU ARE SO LUCKY!!!

  • @Jamerio3D - HrMA61WOlGk

  • @Jamerio3D Maybe that's the attraction and joy of Arcade music, or any VG music. To a certain extent, it always carries a quality of "This is what everything going well feels like. I'll take two, please."

  • @Jamerio3D

Definitely! If I've said it once, I've said it a million times - we grew up during the last great era to be a kid. The video game industry grew up with us basically, which is nice for us, but sucks for the kids of today.

  • @DJCandyManMike How so? Games today are incredible. We have HD and some games are even 3D

  • @M5IAN

The technology is superior, no one can doubt that. However, the fun factor is missing from a majority of today's games. Play a game like the original Contra or Out Run and you'll see what I mean. You get a rush playing the classics that you don't often get from games of today.

  • @M5IAN HD and 3D doesn't make games great. I mean if you were playing a really boring game but it was in HD/3D you wouldn't say "Oh this game is great because its in 3D or HD". You'd still think it was boring. So the HD/3D argument doesn't mean anything. We didn't enjoy the games any less because there was no HD/3D. Games in the 80s were fun to play. There was no horrible attitude in them. There was nothing about them that was sick or over the top. They were fun & addictive with catchy music

  • oh i remember i had this game in my old computer, i could only see it in black and orange colours. i remember how much i love the music.

the new game of sega bayonetta included this theme and magical sound shower, also make tribute to other old games like after burner and space harrier!! if you have the chance you should listen the OST!! great remix versions!!!

  • Yes.. the second stage music of afterburner was rockin awesome

  • It's pretty faithful to the original arcade version (the music).

  • That's because this *is* the original arcade music. ;)

  • Is it? Oh - I never knew :)

  • boy does this all bring back sooo many memories, man the excitement at that time was so high just because video games were still a very new thing in the mid 80's, getting popular because of Nintendo and Sega.

  • This song is in Bayonetta ^^

  • Best song in the hole game! I like the real music that they can put in games now like the 80's pop in gta3 but the old made up game music from 80's-mid 90's was very cool like in (A500) Turrican II made in the 90's but I like 80's music and game music the best!

  • "made-up" music? "real" music?

How sad, you actually think there's such a thing as "real music". It's all just "Music", there is no such thing as real music or fake music.

  • @Erghest

Guess he just means "original music", i.e. "made up especially for the game" as opposed to licensing existing tracks.

  • I'm just gonna walk into Game Dude someday and buy whatever game I see that looks cool without even knowing anything about it just like it would have been back in 1983-1997.

  • It was all packaging and the word on the street then.

  • don't forget games magazines :)

  • Thanks :) I'll upload tomorrow Magical Sound Shower

  • Can you accept my video response? It's C64 version of this song :)

  • 8 BITS RULES DA WORLD

  • too right

  • Ironically this piece of music is 16-bit arcade technology, but yes I agree.

  • yeah music digital

  • This is the perfect song to just head bang to.

  • Thanks for the upload! :D

  • I can envision a Sonic game with a starting level with this song.

  • 1:41 to 2:05 is my favourite part; I used to happily hum along to that bit when playing!

  • That's everyone's favourite part!!!

  • lol, it's just very "hummable", isn't it?

  • This is one of the best ol skool game tracks ever with out question

    Good times for real

    Thax for posting

  • GREAAAAAT !

    Thx a lot!

  • Amazing tune!! Brings back great memories of arcades when I was little :o)
