One of my greatest music memories features this man. At the Owen Sound
Folk Festival about 30 years ago, a small group of us showed up to hear him play at the grandstand despite a very menacing raincloud. He started his show and the skies opened up. So he just called us all on to the stage and played his entire set to about 20 folks . I was three feet from him and he turned to me at one point and said with that big smile of his, "isn't this great." A big heart full of music and love.
What a treat to get to see and hear Gamble again. Spent lots of money at the Tradewinds Tropical Saloon when I lived in St. Augustine drinking beer and soaking up the wonderful music and monologues of this Southern Gothic Troubador as I remembering him referring to himself. Worth every cent and then some. His valiant effort made for a great loss for all of us who knew him.
He was a wonderfully talented man - and there will never be another one like him - he was definitely one of a kind. I miss him. Thanks for sharing this.

Great guitar player. Didn't know he was from FL. I hear he played in my neck of the woods (gainesville) before he died.

Jimmy Buffett used to open for him way back when he was starting out. What a wonderful, talented artist. He will be missed for years to come.
