Now games will have you enter a QTE for sequence like this. Completely rips you from the game. QTEs work minimally at times but I think its use is getting beyond spammed.
Christmas day 1996, I laid in bed for hours playing this game. Remembering the IG-88 battle being so intense and scary! I loved this game and played it to 100 percent.
the game at the arcade is starwars trilogy. this and goldeneye were the only two games i needed. nowadays kids lose there childhood to video games. theres a whole world in the games today they get lost without leaving home.
the thing is the space/aircraft flight simulation genre isnt very popular these days and developers do fear the risk of miscredit looking at all the high end fps nowadays
Why this hasn't been remade is beyond me. At the same time, what ever happened to the Rogue Squadron series? A PS3 or 360 entry to the series would be awesome!
"Shadows of the Empire": Easily one of the most underrated N64 games. Not only was it a fun game with an awesome story that could've easily been translated to film, it had a freakin' fully-orchestrated soundtrack. Almost unheard of at the time, particularly for the poor cartridge-based N64.
I don't know why nobody ever talks about this game. With "Rogue Squadron" gone, it's ripe for a remake.
Lol at the ending. Did a lot of falling off stuff in this game later, that train segment was brutal. Either that or we all just sucked at using that wierd-ass N64 controller heh.
The thing with this game was that, the controller was half the difficulty as well as having a small field of view, bad aiming system, a weird difficulty curve and some hard challenges. I still remember the snow beasts causing my heart to race. I put this game in the same category as KOTOR and Battlefront, not for design or Gameplay, but because it was one of the few Star Wars games to closely emulate that "Star Wars" charm.
I remember this game! I also remember playing the levels over and over again to try and beat my times... its one of the first games that actually got me to like playing on hard! wow that was so long ago, damn I feel old now... haha
@ricefarmer912 the rogue squadron one was alright, I always hated how terribly laid out the whole thing was....and echo bass was just a tiny little turd in the snow in that game while in SOTE the scale of it felt alot bigger.
I've been a fan of this game for nine years and it's still one of my absolute favorites. I always loved the Battle of Hoth level. My thumb always went apes*** with the "B" button to make the lasers shoot ridiculously fast.
naja soo doll zockt er aber nicht^^ ich weiss noch wo man im zweiten level schon sau fiese fallen überweltigen musste und nach 2 treffern hinüber war^^
i love this game if only lucasarts release this game on the wii virtual console right about now along with rouge squadron, episode I racer and the super star wars games
just wanted to wish you a fun time playing it (i love this game). Small advice: play it first on easy and try to get all challenge points, then do the same on medium and than on the harder difficulties, on each you get other cheats by getting all the chall. points. And in case you don´t know, you can switch from 3. person (what i prefer) to first person in nearly all "on foot" missions, just try what you like more. and also try all the camera options (i prefer the ResidentEvil4 like follow cam)
@Stevo5000X Because gaming back then were for the hardcore types. Now days it became popular and you have many casuals who play so best to make a handicap. :/
@recon500 oh yeah goldeneye was so sic when it first came out! lol do you see the remake they did with the new 007!? lol... lame! the only thing the original lacked was internet multiplayer, how sic would that be?
I loved this game. I played this non stop when this first came out, I beat every level, but I couldn't beat the fourth level, I always died at the last stage of Boba Fett. (My brother had to beat that) But i did everything else!
i FINALY beat this game pretty recently (say a couple months ago) HAAAARD! but if you say this game sucks YOU HAVE NO FRIKKIN TASTE IN VIDEO GAMES! kick-ass game but hard as hell
One of my all time favourite games, along with Goldeneye this could be the best game ever to come out on N64

Incredible game that was way under-rated and way over looked
I guess the thing that kept it funt was how every level was different.
Anyway, I'm still in love with this game. My regret being that I sold it with my 64 for my x-box many years ago.
