  • One of my all time favourite games, along with Goldeneye this could be the best game ever to come out on N64

  • I had no idea the story oft his game was different from the movie, at the time of playing it.

  • I can remember playing this game at my grandfather's house. Does anybody know where I can find a copy of this game?

  • @miketehman98 Ebay. I've actually got one I'm looking to sell. Message me if your interested.

  • It'S cool to think that at some point in my life, this stage was the most EPIC thing, at all, that I had done so far

  • This game is the reason I am afraid of heights

  • Forgot the sequence i'm referring to is the harpoon.

  • Now games will have you enter a QTE for sequence like this. Completely rips you from the game. QTEs work minimally at times but I think its use is getting beyond spammed.

  • love the way he/she didnt edit out their deaths xD

  • The Music is just Epic & Amazing

  • Christmas day 1996, I laid in bed for hours playing this game. Remembering the IG-88 battle being so intense and scary! I loved this game and played it to 100 percent.

  • This one was great man... a remake would be great indeed, but knowing Lucasarts we can wait til Hoth melts into an arid desert.

  • still better grafics than black ops

  • @killmypoptart You just won the internet.

  • 1:28 Allahu Akbar!

  • @Brandon5l9 HAHAHAHAHA that's funny!

  • the game at the arcade is starwars trilogy. this and goldeneye were the only two games i needed. nowadays kids lose there childhood to video games. theres a whole world in the games today they get lost without leaving home.

  • I loved this game so much.

  • is this on any ps2 or any console?it looks fun its at the nickel arcade

  • This game had great music.

  • ramming the walkers seems to be a popular strategy

  • Looks like Minecraft.

  • @Novinte -.-

  • the thing is the space/aircraft flight simulation genre isnt very popular these days and developers do fear the risk of miscredit looking at all the high end fps nowadays

  • This game made me afraid to play it...

  • Why this hasn't been remade is beyond me. At the same time, what ever happened to the Rogue Squadron series? A PS3 or 360 entry to the series would be awesome!

  • Hey Delta01ise. There is a book that the game was based on you should check it out good read.

  • Nice vid. I still have my n64 bought from day one and many games including SOTE. May have to have a little go on it again.

  • "Shadows of the Empire": Easily one of the most underrated N64 games. Not only was it a fun game with an awesome story that could've easily been translated to film, it had a freakin' fully-orchestrated soundtrack. Almost unheard of at the time, particularly for the poor cartridge-based N64.

I don't know why nobody ever talks about this game. With "Rogue Squadron" gone, it's ripe for a remake.

  • There should be a movie called Star Wars Shadows of the Empire based from the game

  • I remember the cheat where you can control the snow monsters and even the stormtroopers.

  • Kinda looks like Rogue squadron*

  • This game was better than the prequel trilogy.

  • He looks so weird, and isn't darth vader supposed to walk in on the falcon escaping?

  • Lol at the ending. Did a lot of falling off stuff in this game later, that train segment was brutal. Either that or we all just sucked at using that wierd-ass N64 controller heh.

  • in this game the cockpit view was awesome

  • The AT AT part was always epic.

  • i remember when i was a little kid and I would play the snow map and the last map all the time

  • The thing with this game was that, the controller was half the difficulty as well as having a small field of view, bad aiming system, a weird difficulty curve and some hard challenges. I still remember the snow beasts causing my heart to race. I put this game in the same category as KOTOR and Battlefront, not for design or Gameplay, but because it was one of the few Star Wars games to closely emulate that "Star Wars" charm.

  • Thanks for the memories man, fucking miss this game, I'm 22 yrs old now, I was about what 8 or 9 when this came out, I miss the 64 man!!!

  • they have this game in the movie teater :D

  • this was the dogs bollocks back in the day

  • who ever is playin this is shit

  • I remember this game! I also remember playing the levels over and over again to try and beat my times... its one of the first games that actually got me to like playing on hard! wow that was so long ago, damn I feel old now... haha

  • One of the few games you could fly out past the skybox in.

That's right, you could break the game completely by doing so.

  • i want this game for pc.

  • Mario 64 was rated best Nintendo 64 game...

  • really really sucky with the harpoon there =)

  • looks poo

  • This games was SO hard.

Thanks for uploading, this brings back memories from the 90's when I was a kid.

  • Picked this bad boy up for $6 at a game store, I've been playing for days and just reminiscing back when I first played it.

  • this person sucks at this game

  • Best Sound on the N64

  • i just heard of this game and i wonder, are there any lightsaber gameplay at all?

  • LOL i totally forgot bout dat

no dis is all bout shooters

  • @kanal4

nope nothing but blasters and ships....

  • the hoth level was definitely alot more epic in the rogue squadron game.....but definitely an awesome game with an interesting sidestory

  • @ricefarmer912 the rogue squadron one was alright, I always hated how terribly laid out the whole thing was....and echo bass was just a tiny little turd in the snow in that game while in SOTE the scale of it felt alot bigger.

  • I've been a fan of this game for nine years and it's still one of my absolute favorites. I always loved the Battle of Hoth level. My thumb always went apes*** with the "B" button to make the lasers shoot ridiculously fast.

  • I remember playing this in 2002 and this game was so hard to me

  • This game would be a good remake

  • I know or hell, a damn movie on it's on.

  • @SprocketWars One of the best star wars games I ever play,a remake would be something AWESOME!!!

  • this game was GREAT! dark, eerie, challenging, fun.

  • kamikaze attack against the AT-ST LoL xD

  • naja soo doll zockt er aber nicht^^ ich weiss noch wo man im zweiten level schon sau fiese fallen überweltigen musste und nach 2 treffern hinüber war^^

  • As weird as it may seem, I love killing my teammates in the first round, in this Hoth Battle level. It's actually kinda fun the way they blow up.

  • i thought i was the only one

  • i remember the scary rockman

  • i still have this game and i play it all the time.:D

  • I miss this game!! One of my all time favorites!!

  • they must do a ramake of this

  • Great great great game!!

  • i love this game

  • Wampas!! AHH they scared me as a kid. But honestly this game rocked, I loved all the little secrets.

  • i love this game if only lucasarts release this game on the wii virtual console right about now along with rouge squadron, episode I racer and the super star wars games

  • Finally bought this game today at gametrader, Ive waited 13 years and Im so excited to have it! I frikin LOVE this game!

  • just wanted to wish you a fun time playing it (i love this game). Small advice: play it first on easy and try to get all challenge points, then do the same on medium and than on the harder difficulties, on each you get other cheats by getting all the chall. points. And in case you don´t know, you can switch from 3. person (what i prefer) to first person in nearly all "on foot" missions, just try what you like more. and also try all the camera options (i prefer the ResidentEvil4 like follow cam)

  • I remember trying over and over to kill an AT ST with a tow cable.

  • I'll tell u what.. games like this was hard as hell to bead on hard mode.. u had to have skill back then.. Games are way to easy now a days.

  • @Stevo5000X Because gaming back then were for the hardcore types. Now days it became popular and you have many casuals who play so best to make a handicap. :/

  • my all time favourite n64 game of all time once my freind stayed over and we played this nearly all night

  • with out a doubt it rivals ocarina of time for best n64 game of all time.

  • @x7Chaos id say super mario 64, although i loved both of those games.

  • @x7Chaos For me its this and Goldeneye

  • @recon500 oh yeah goldeneye was so sic when it first came out! lol do you see the remake they did with the new 007!? lol... lame! the only thing the original lacked was internet multiplayer, how sic would that be?

  • @x7Chaos You know Zelda and shadow of the empire have been proven to be equaled

  • @x7Chaos Rly?

  • @Stiny114 Starfox

  • @x7Chaos ?

  • I loved this game. I played this non stop when this first came out, I beat every level, but I couldn't beat the fourth level, I always died at the last stage of Boba Fett. (My brother had to beat that) But i did everything else!

  • This brings back memories

  • when i was a kid i could never figure out how to use the tow cable on the AT-AT

  • i FINALY beat this game pretty recently (say a couple months ago) HAAAARD! but if you say this game sucks YOU HAVE NO FRIKKIN TASTE IN VIDEO GAMES! kick-ass game but hard as hell

    o_o

  • it was scary in the sewers when i fell in the water, and then when you had to fight the huge monster boss underwater that was freaky

  • I still have this game and I got to say even 12 years after its release it is still one of the best games for the N64. Thanks for the memories.

  • ... GOD, the nostalgia!...

I could never play this game for too long cause there was this one boss that scared me, though. XD... I was at least 7 then. <.<

  • Incredible game that was way under-rated and way over looked

I guess the thing that kept it funt was how every level was different.

Anyway, I'm still in love with this game. My regret being that I sold it with my 64 for my x-box many years ago.

  • Thanks men i played this game a least 11 years ago, and i still remember it was one of the better game i´ve ever play in the N64..

  • Fun game, but its hard. I can only beat the 4th level on easy. normal is too hard.

  • even now i cant beat the freakin at-st on normal

  • i miss this game and my pc can't play all n64 games like this one i can play n64 games but only some of them mu pc isin't strong enough

  • Noob

  • at least he uploaded something other people haven't. Let see you upload a video of this game then buddy.

  • i loved this game but nevr had the best graphics

  • excellent game, one of my favorites.

You're fairly noob at it though..

  • I used to love this game! 5/5!
