I used to play this whole piece on a 32 note steam calliope...Pretty tricky to arrange when you only have 32 keys to work with, but I managed to pull it off. The arrangement I worked from was in C, and the first F major part was the trickiest to arrange. I tried to play this on the Delta Queen, but the low F whistle was dead, so I skipped to Ringling Brothers' Grand Entry.

Isn't it amusing how self-appointed critics proclaim a certain composer "average" when facts belie that assessment? Julius Fucik studied at the Czech Conservatory and took lessons in composition from Anton Dvorak, who was not too shabby himself. Fucik wrote over 300 pieces including orchestral marches and his music is still being played today. There are knowledgeable people who equate him to J. Strauss ll. Pretty good for an "average" composer, wouldn't you say?
