@yekane1 there are 3 solo milestones when training for your PPL, all equally as enjoyable: first solo (the first time you fly by yourself, usually just one or two circuits), first area solo (first time departing the aerodrome for solo training) and first navigation solo (first extended solo flight outside of the aerodrome).
@Jester356 thanks mate. its a wearable sports camera called a GoPro. Im wearing the head strap in this video. check out their website for more mounts and details. the camera is a good investment!
Private question-> what if ur doing a 1.5 hours flight ... and in b/w flight you want to pee and u cant resist it .. and small planes dont have toilets so what would u do???
@YesIamAPilot thanks for the tip. i have tried that before but doesn't work for me, i prefer north as north. some people do like it though, just comes down to personal preference i guess.
@kpoida Your right, its different for different people. Another tip that might help. Cut 1nm marks into your pencil (WAC on one side, VTC on the other) helps with estimating distances quickly for diversions etc. saves having to get ur ruler out everytime just to find a distance.
@kpoida , Thank you for the video !! I'm so happy to see you achieved your goal , I mean GFPT is great achievement already !! Fly safe and Happy landing
good luck for your further training into PPL . : )
Nice videos mate, just about to sit for my GFPT at Parafield, Adelaide.
You going for your private or commercial?
Also, how are you mounting your camera. obviously these are on your hat/headset, but the other video where its in the back right hand corner of the plane.
Nice!... yeah im just a few weeks out from my GFPT. just need to do abit more study! Going for my PPL. the camera is called a GoPro hero and comes with a heap of mounts you can use. ive got the head strap on here, and in the other video i stuck it to the top window with some 3M removable tape and the standard mounts.
Awesome video! I'm also just starting to do my first area solos down at Moorabbin airport ,in Vic. Enjoy the rest of your solos, and I look forward to seeing more :)
thanks Brett! im using a gopro hero camera. this is the standard def model, we should be getting the HD here in aus in a week or so. worth a look... ill be getting one!
Great job!

A little tip, situate you map so that your track is facing up. It makes things easier to find.

Hey mate, How long is the Area Solo after Completing Solo Circuit consolodation? according to the RACWA syllabus?
stuka101 2 years ago
had 2 hours of PFL's, 2 hours of Adv. turns and a check flight. I'd say that pretty much matches the RACWA syllabus.
kpoida 2 years ago
Sweet as! Il get that done once im back from my holidays. How longs the Check flight? Just checks departure and arrival routes yeah? or?
stuka101 2 years ago
@stuka101 yeah arrivals and departures, but you also get taken though everything you've learned so far, so stalls, turns, PFL's, etc
