I still remember this Tyler Clemente story clearly...many were sending "condolences" to his parents. However, how do we know that his PARENTS were not also to blame? Everyone was quick to point fingers at the dormitory residents...yet the parents were probably lucky to escape the blame like bandits. I still remember this Tyler Clemente story clearly...many were sending "condolences" to his parents. However, how do we know that his PARENTS were not also to blame? Everyone was quick to point fingers at the dormitory residents...yet the parents were probably lucky to escape the blame like bandits. Many parents who find out their child is gay end up kicking them out of their homes. Tyler seemed to have a HUGE fear of being outed. And also he was an active participant in his church.

I'm a lesbian, living in the Netherlands, Europe. People in my city, especially in my school have been showing more and more hatred towards gays. I myself get bullied at school every day, not because I'm gay, but because I'm different. They have no idea I am gay. I cry everytime I watch this video because it's just not fair... Why do I get to live and they don't? I was bullied mercilessly for years and I was almost killed twice... Once when they held my head underwater in the pool and again when they tried to push me into traffic... But I survived. Whenever I hear about these kids I always ask myself: "Why me? Why do I get to live while they don't?"
I never thought being a survivor could be so heartbreaking...
