Thanks for posting this video... I am working on a project about UTOPIA... Slums can be Utopian places. Prince Charles is planning to develop a new city base in the slums of mumbai... this slums are full working cities in which people have develop an special economy. These comunas, favelas or slums are also full of positive stories and heartwarming stories....

Medellin esta hecha toda de ladrillo, incluso los barrios ricos los edificios son la mayoria de ladrillo descubierto sin fachada, es lo que mas me impacto de la ciudad cuando recien llegue a estudiar porque TODA la ciudad parece un gigante barrio pobre con tanto ladrillo. No se por que le gustara tanto a los paisas construir asi, se ve feisimo. La ciudad es chimba y hay mucho para hacer pero hay que admitir que es feita
medellin also has a lot nice places. and let me tell you something people from this neightborhood(comunas) they are very nice persons they poor but all of them are people like you and me. come to medellin and when you get a taxicap, tell them to go pueblito paisa, the best electric train in colombia (metro) el poclado, envigado sabaneta. and be careful with the girl because they are beautiful.

Excellent photography, but Medellin really isn't far off being the world's murder capital right now. Since that crime boss was extradited the narco-paras are fighting amongst themselves and all the common hoodlums, independent of the more organized violence, have taken advantage of not being under paramilitary control.
The murder rate is soearing unfortunately and really, bar Juarez in Mexico [arguably - there's confusion over exact numbers], Medellin is a s murderous as anywhere in the world..
