This is not how to tie a bow tie. It is correct up until step 5, but after that, it is wrong. The short end is not simply brought over, it is actually folded over itself. The audio says this, but the model does not do it. That is why the knot looks so terrible. See "How to tie a bow tie" by colacvb for a much better video on properly tying a bow tie.

This is not how to tie a bow tie. Do not take any notice of this video. Everything is correct up to step 8, and then at step 8 it is totally wrong. You will and up with one side with two open ends and the other which is just folded back on itself, which is not how a bow tie is meant to look. IGNORE THIS VIDEO.
