  • Why does this remind me of the title sequence of Tarantino's Jackie Brown?

  • @daffhs --- It's very similar, that's for sure. Tarantino's opening is a direct VISUAL lift from Mike Nichols' The Graduate from '67, possibly even filmed on the same conveyor system, I believe. The music he uses, however, is Bobby Womack's "Across 110th Street", a soul number that is probably a bit closer (in tone, at least) to the Superchick theme music. Still, I have no doubt Tarantino saw this movie, even if The Graduate is the more obvious inspiration.

  • @Coolestmovies you are absolutely right about the Graduate. I think the blue/green/yellow coloured tiles in the background wall made me think of Jackie Brown.

    Thanks for posting!

  • Yes, SUPERCHICK is the title of the movie from 1975. Joyce Jillson, the movie's star, quit acting to become an astrologer. She died from kidney failure in 2004. Candy Samples is also in this under the name "Mary Gavin" along with the legendary Uschi Digard.
