Disturbing, but not surprising that certain attitudes still exist in this day & age. There's NO such thing as too black or anything else when it comes to art, and it is wonderful when someone comes along to prove that. I only learned about Duffy this week and I'm already addicted. She's absolutely amazing and her voice is among the best I've ever heard. Unbelievable talent, great personality, and gorgeous to match everything else!

when i first heard this song (wich was in the love scene of dirty dancing lol) i didn't think of black singers and all, so of course she can sing this song and it's not too black for her, absolutley not! honestly i got surprised when i found out this was a "black song" stupid, but i don't think there should be genres of "white songs" and "black songs" .. this one is truly amazing! :D doesn't matter who's singing it

Since when is there a genre of fashion for a genre of music? Okay, I get that rappers and R&B musicians have a fashion style but Duffy is not only soul it's also pop, and pop is known to have all kinds of fashion. plus, it's not like there's a dresscode when you put out your music, she's one of the very few who dresses how she likes and is most comfortable with.I think she wants the main focus to be her music and not how she dresses, which I think is pretty cool.. she simply has no "image"/look

In case you haven't noticed, her dress style is very retro (which happens to be back in fashion), which as I've said compliments her style of signing which is 60's through-back (based on the rhythms used in most of her songs ie. Mercy, Cry to Me, Syrup and Honey ...). And for the record, everyone has an image, whether you believe it or not. She may not have wanted a preconceived "image", but in doing so has ended up with an image nonetheless.
